Each educational organization has its own history. It is also available at the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University (KSPU named after V. P. Astafiev). The university operates, as the name implies, in Krasnoyarsk. This is one of the largest and oldest educational institutions in Siberia.
Past and present
The higher educational institution in Krasnoyarsk was founded in 1932. At first, it was given the name - State Pedagogical Institute. The school had four departments. In the first year, only 118 students and 50 listeners were enrolled. The Institute existed until 1993. Then a transformation was carried out, as a result of which the work was continued not by the institute, but by the university. In 2004, another significant event took place in the history of the university. He was named after V. P. Astafiev - an outstanding Russian writer, honorary professor of the KSPU.

Valery Anatolyevich Kovalevsky - this person is currently the rector of the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University. He has held this position for a short time. In April 2014 at V. A. Kovalevsky was entrusted with the duties of the rector, and in December 2015 he was appointed to this position in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of our country. V. A. Kovalevsky has been working at the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical University for a long time. He became an employee of the university in 1986. At first he was a senior lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, and then became the head of this unit. Since 2012, he has been Vice-Rector for Science at the University.
Structure of a higher education institution
Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University consists of five faculties, five institutes and one department. In all these structural divisions, students are trained in a wide range of areas. There are also 43 departments that teach certain subjects.
As for the branches, it is worth noting that earlier Astafyev's KSPU (Krasnoyarsk) provided educational services in four cities - Achinsk, Kansk, Norilsk and Zheleznogorsk. There are currently no branches. They were all liquidated.

Department is a unique structural unit in the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University. It was created recently. In 2016 D. G. Mindiashvili, who is the head of the Department of Methods and Theory of Wrestling, voiced his thoughts on the creation of a new educational unit in a higher educational institution.
