In the city of Yelabuga, all local residents are familiar with the Yelabuga State Pedagogical University (EGPU). Its history began in 1939 with the establishment of a teacher's institute in the city. In 2011, an important change took place - the institution became a branch of Kazan Federal University. Since 2013, the pedagogical university has been called the Elabuga Institute (branch) of KFU.

This structural unit was created by order of the rector of the educational institution in 2016. It was formed on the basis of the biological and physical and mathematical faculties. The created division trains not just chemists, physicists, biologists, mathematicians and computer scientists, but real professionals who are familiar with modern technologies and are able to work both in the pedagogical field and in progressive areas of modern science.

Law Faculty
Yelabuga State Pedagogical University began training lawyers in 2003. At first, students choosing law studied at the correspondence department. In 2007, it became possible to receive a profession in full-time education. Currently, education can be obtained both full-time and part-time.
