A normal (non-leap) year has fifty-two weeks and one day. Due to the presence of the latter, in each subsequent year, the days of the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.) are shifted by 1 day when compared with the previous one. After a leap year, such a shift occurs for two days.
Number of weeks in the school year
