This script for the Day of Tolerance event is for Grade 4 students.
Goal: to inculcate tolerance towards others.
The class teacher announces that this week at school is dedicated to tolerance, and the guys will go to the library for an event dedicated to this beautiful and necessary quality.
Start of event
Guys enter the library in formation and take their seats.
Librarian: Hello, dear children. I am glad to welcome you to our school library at the tolerance event. I would really like it to leave a lasting impression on you and maybe change something in you.
Have you ever heard the word "tolerance"? What does it mean?
It turns out that it denotes a very important quality that not every person has.
In front of you are explanatory dictionaries. Open and find the definition of the word "tolerance".
Tolerance is tolerance for others, sometimes notlike everyone else. It is mercy and kindness."
Children find and try to explain in their own words how they understand the meaning.
View video
Below in the article is a video. After reviewing it, you can answer the following questions:
- What happened to the cartoon character?
- How does the video relate to the theme of the event?
Longer cartoons can be included in the scenario of a tolerance event at school so that children can analyze the actions of the characters and draw conclusions.
Reading a poem
"The poem "We are different" sounds especially for you.
Live together on a huge planet
Different adults, different kids.
Different in appearance and skin color, But we certainly have something in common!
We all want to be happy, To fly to the stars and sail across the sea, Be strong friends, not be afraid of the "other".
My friend is in a wheelchair, what's wrong here?
He rides with us in a race, We are fishing together by the river.
We do not have quarrels and insults, He's the best, my disabled friend!
Friendship always overcomes obstacles, Being with your best friend is the reward!
What does this poem teach us? How does tolerance manifest itself?
Disabled people are people like all of us who love to play, have fun, learn. And we should not reject them just becausethat they are not like everyone else. The poem says that a real person will never turn away from a friend, even if he cannot walk, hears poorly, sees.
I would really like our library tolerance event to help you realize that kindness is one of the main qualities of a person, and teach you to be the same true friends as the characters in the poem."
Situations
Now consider the situations. What would you do if you were the heroes?
Situation 1. A new boy has come to class. He was tall, blond. His name was Nikita. The teacher introduced the guy, and he modestly sat down at the desk. The kids immediately wanted to get to know him. But when Nikita spoke, it turned out that he stuttered. One of the guys began to laugh, Lera immodestly asked: "What's wrong with you? Why are you drawing funny words?" Nikita blushed and lowered his head.
The guys continued to laugh at him when he read poetry, spoke with a retelling. And some were even angry that Nikita took so long to answer their questions. The boy became even more withdrawn.
What would you do in this situation?
Situation 2. Sergey and Artem were walking from school. To get to their house, it was necessary to cross the river, through which lay a very narrow but long bridge. The boys were in a hurry and rejoiced. Still would! Mom is not at home, which means you can play your favorite game for an hour before she arrives! When they approached the bridge, they noticed that an old grandmother was moving along the bridge with small steps. She was so old that she walkedvery slowly, her hands were shaking, and she firmly gripped the railing, stopping every now and then to catch her breath.
Artem, seeing such a sight, frowned and said to his friend: "Is she really going to walk like a turtle? We don't have much time anyway!"
It was very problematic to get around the old woman, as the bridge was really narrow, and you can only pass through it one after another.
They slowly followed her. The old lady stopped again. Now Sergei began to wail: "And that's where this old woman went?! Why can't she sit at home?"
Grandma probably overheard their conversation, tried to walk faster, but nearly tripped. Taking a deep breath, she walked on."
The guys express their versions of how they would have acted in the place of the main characters, whether they agree with them or not.
Song performance
Our tolerance event in the children's library is not in vain, there are many books that teach us to respect each other and help in trouble. And what works can you name that are suitable for the topic of the lesson?
Do you know any cartoons that show tolerance or, on the contrary, its absence?
What songs do you know about kindness and tolerance?
Let's join hands and sing the good song "The Big Round Dance".
Reflection
Librarian: Do not let go of your hands, let's end our event on such a pleasant friendly note. Now each of you will say kind words to the standing comrade on the right - compliments, highlight qualities, dignity, that are unique to him and make him special.
This concludes our tolerance event at the library. I would like to wish you to always remain human and do not forget that kindness and tolerance for others will save the world. We should never judge or reject a person for being different.
Let's do more tolerance activities in our school library! All the best to you!"
