Russia, which occupies a special geographic location, has always considered the problems of combating terrorism to be key. It is in this country that in recent years the greatest number of tragedies have occurred that have destabilized the situation in the state. And perhaps the most terrible among them was the terrorist attack in Beslan.
2004, the first of September… Militants suddenly broke into the territory of school No. Those who had time were able to run away, but the rest, mostly elementary school students, their teachers and parents, were driven into the gym by the bandits. As a result of a firefight that ensued with the security of the school, three workers were shot dead. These were the very first victims of the Beslan terrorist attack.
According to the information received, about thirty militants participated in the attack, among them - those who were wearing suicide belts. Two hours later, the terrorists released a woman from the school building with a note demanding to be called in for negotiations.heads of North Ossetia and Ingushetia.
The attack in Beslan, as a result of which the country learned about the heroism of many people, is considered by some to be one of the most brutal in the history of Russia. Dzasokhov, Zyazikov and Dr. Roshal arrived for negotiations with the bandits, whose presence was also a condition of the Chechen fighters.
The second of September came, but the terrorist attack in Beslan did not receive its permission. The situation was heating up with every minute. The bandits put forward their demands: to release all their criminal accomplices who participated in the attack on Nazran two months before the terrorist attack in the Beslan school was planned.
In order to prove the seriousness of their intentions, the militants handed over a cassette with a video recording of what was happening in the gym. The picture was depressing: in the forty-degree heat, the children were inside the building without water and food, many of them were suffocating. The terrorists demanded medicines, food and clothing, refusing to replace children with adults.
The attack in Beslan, according to the President of Russia, had only one priority task - to free the hostages at any cost.
It's the third of September. At one o'clock in the afternoon, several explosions were heard in the school area, and shooting began. Suddenly, the hostages began to run out of the building. Under crossfire, soldiers carried hostages out of the school. Some were helped to escape, but many of the children, who were exhausted during these painful three days, were carried by the military in their arms.
After the release of most of the hostages, a shootout between the special forces and the bandits began. At the same time, the evacuation of thosewho else was in the building. Mobile infirmaries were deployed around the school, into which hungry and exhausted children were constantly brought. Many of them had no clothes on.
Shooting in the building did not stop for a minute, shots rang out in parallel.
Several militants managed to break out and take cover in a nearby house, which was immediately cordoned off.
Only at eight in the evening the fighters of "Alpha" and "Vympel" managed to free the last hostages. Emergency vehicles left the school every minute, for which the military and police formed "live" corridors.
The attack in Beslan took the lives of 186 children, ten commandos, seventeen school workers and one hundred and twenty-one adults, including employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. In total, twenty-eight militants were killed during the shootout, one was taken alive. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Shamil Basayev, one of the most brutal Chechen fighters, who later managed to destroy, took full responsibility for the terrorist attack in Beslan.
