The elder brothers laugh at Ivan, they make fun that he will have to marry such an unusual wife. Undoubtedly, he is ashamed of his position, since he has a rather high status - the son of the sovereign himself. Forced to marry a frog, our Ivan Tsarevich “hung his head”. The characterization of the hero is generally positive, he turned out to be strong in spirit.

First Trial

No sooner had they taken to enjoy the newly minted family life, as the father comes up with a new task. He decides to check what the royal daughters-in-law are capable of. The first thing that interests the king-father is how the wives of their sons know how to bake bread. This product in Russia was considered the most important on the table, and every girl should have known from childhood how it is done. The eldest sons bowed with honor and went to inform the wives about the ordeal of their father. The characterization of Ivan Tsarevich from the fairy tale "The Frog Princess" should be supplemented by the fact that he could not find a place for himself from sadness. The youngest son knew that he would again disgrace himself before his brothers.

Could he expect that his wife would calm him down and put him to bed, and she would begin to work miracles! She turned into a beautiful girl, Vasilisa the Wise. She began to bake a loaf, but such that it is difficult to imagine. The dough is white, soft, and decorated with swans.

The next morning ourIvanushka could not believe that his frog had baked such wonderful bread. He was delighted, took the dish and carried it to his father. The king began to accept the work of daughters-in-law. The elder's loaf was burnt, his sovereign ordered to eat only in a big famine. The middle oblique and curve came out. A father would only give such bread to dogs. And when he saw Ivan's loaf, he said that he should only be served on the festive table.

The characterization of Ivan Tsarevich is changing: now he is not sad, but feels like a winner in front of his brothers.

Second test

But the king-father does not rest on this. He asks to show how his daughter-in-law weaves carpets. And again the youngest son is in sorrow. The characterization of Ivan Tsarevich will be supplemented by a new fact: he is distrustful of his wife, who has already helped him out once. And again the frog calms the husband, puts him to bed and weaves a wonderful carpet. The older daughters-in-law called the servants for help, because they understood that they themselves were not able to cope with this task. And again, the father takes the job. The elder has such a carpet that it will only fit for horses. For the middle one, it will only do in front of the gate to lay. And Ivan excelled again: his wife did the best job. The king is pleased and orders this carpet to be laid on holidays.

Third test

After checking the skills of the daughters-in-law, the sovereign comes up with the last test. He calls all his sons with their wives to a feast, to see how they can behave. Now Ivan understands that shame cannot be avoided. We'll have to bring a frog instead of a beautiful girl. The brothers will definitely make fun of him. He was more sad than before. But wonderfulthe frog and then puts her husband to sleep, reassuring.

The next day, arriving at the feast, the guests are shocked. Instead of laughing at the younger brother, they are unable to utter a word. Before them is the Princess herself - the Frog!

How wrong he was! It turns out that not everything is so simple: the girl was bewitched by Koschey, turning into a frog. If only he had waited three more days, the fatal curse would have ended. But, without asking a word from Vasilisa the Wise, he is in a hurry and makes a mistake. The princess turned into a swan and flew away, saying that he was looking for her.

She was a very smart girl and quite cunning. Her father got angry at her and punished her to be a frog for three whole years. And just at that moment, when the test was coming to an end,Ivan and threw away her skin.

The old man decides to help the guy and gives him a magic ball that should lead him to his wife.

On the way the hero met animals. The first was the bear. Ivan really wanted to eat, but he could not kill the beast that begged for mercy. This speaks of his quality as mercy.

Then he met a drake, in which he almost shot an arrow, but regretted it again. He did the same with the hare and pike he met.

Happy ending

Arriving in Koshcheevo's kingdom, the king's son is at a loss as to what to do. He can only save his wife by killing her father. And the death of Koshchei is kept in an egg, on a tall tree. And then all the animals he saved come to the aid of the guy.
