The Volga Institute of Management named after P. A. Stolypin (or PAGS) is a university specializing in the training of officials and civil servants. It was founded in the 22nd year of the twentieth century, when a communist university was created on the basis of an educational institution for girls to train party cadres.
Institute today
Since 2010, the Stolypin Institute has been part of the RANEPA. At the moment, the number of students studying is 11,000 people. The cost of education is from 70,240 rubles for one year of full-time education. However, it is worth noting that the university also has state-funded places, and a quota for citizens from the Republic of Crimea has also been allocated. As a major scientific and educational center, the university is designed to fill the need of the Volga region for officials and other civil servants. However, graduates find jobs in other parts of the country.
According to available statistics, more than 60% of graduates who received diplomas in 2015 were employed, and one in ten entered graduate school. This is not surprising, because the university cooperates with almost all relevant potential employers in the region - thisgovernment agencies, municipal administrations, branches of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation, regional courts, etc.
Also, large banks and the media are becoming a popular place for the device. Those who have received legal training are looking for work in lawyer and notary offices.
Education programs
The Volga Institute of Management named after P. A. Stolypin includes seven faculties:
- Economics and management - for the training of managerial personnel who can prove themselves both in business structures and in the civil service.
- Political and Legal Department - trains specialists in the direction of "jurisprudence", as well as political scientists and conflictologists.
- State and municipal administration - a personnel reserve for authorities.
- "Higher School of Public Administration" - for the organization of advanced training for current officials.
- Second higher education.
- Masters and Postgraduates.
- Department for pre-university and secondary professional education.
The last faculty is not more focused on providing training in the speci alties "Management" and "Jurisprudence" as such. The main task of the division is the preparation of future students for higher education and admission to the Volga Institute of Management. P. A. Stolypin.
In total, the university has 23 departments that produce specialists, in accordance with the profile of the Presidential Academy. The scientific and teaching staff ismore than 300 employees, most of whom hold advanced degrees.
PAGS currently ranks seventh among other educational institutions in the Saratov region according to the ranking of universities.
Affiliate programs
In addition to broad mutual integration with other structural subdivisions of the RANEPA, the Stolypin Volga Institute of Management no less actively cooperates with foreign universities and major Russian universities. The objectives of this program are generally as follows:
- first of all, this is the exchange of students and young international scientists;
- holding international conferences in the Volga region;
- receiving international grants;
- accumulation of experience for consultations of Russian authorities on international issues.
Achieving PAGS students are trained for six months in Slovakia and Belgium under the agreements. It is important to note that full visa support is provided for students. Also, the teaching staff and students of the university have the opportunity to publish their scientific works in the periodicals of foreign partners.
Scientific activity
The Volga Institute of Management named after P. A. Stolypin, in turn, serves as a platform for posting articles in Russian by scientists from abroad. On an ongoing basis, the university has programs for the exchange of accumulated knowledge,advanced training, for partners from near and far abroad.
The main priorities in the scientific activities of the institution are the development and implementation of modern management programs in government structures. In view of the new political and economic challenges that Russia is facing, the competent distribution of human resources and their skill level is becoming especially relevant.
Thus, the Stolypin Academy today is far from the last university, which is worth paying attention to both the applicant upon admission, and young scientists, graduate students who would like to find themselves in scientific activity.
