Over the years of life, both tragic and amazing events sweep before a person. Many are etched into memory by themselves, giving material memories: scars or charming souvenirs. And some need to be recorded. This process is simple and depends on the context: in what form do you want to save the moment? Do you need a journal entry, in a colorful image format, or is a vivid emotion enough?
Working with a dictionary
The concept in all its decodings is closely connected with images. It does not matter, material or abstract, so a person can work with any "canvas" on which he wants to transfer his thoughts, feelings, emotions from what happened. Even an idea or a philosophical concept can be left as a keepsake for posterity! Basic interpretations:
- make something;
- keep in mind, memory and/or soul;
- commemorate or testify;
- hide.
In the first sense, “capture” is the way artists work. A poet can “capture” the beauty of nature or his feelings for his beloved in poetry, and a painter can capture a significant historical period on canvas. The second option is used more often.others, it is in demand even at the household level: everyone carries all the touching moments of meetings and partings, important household chores.
Poetic language
In the third meaning, the word is most often used in a duet with "kiss". Because such a kiss seems to put a seal, seal the contract between two people, serves as a bright symbol:
- reconciliation between families;
- milestones in personal relationships;
- joy of meeting, etc.
The final interpretation is practically unknown to contemporaries. It is heavy, intricate and carries too many extraneous meanings. When it comes to a mysterious message, they prefer to say “encrypt”, “encode”, etc. When the conversation concerns a lost secret, in this case they turn to the words “lose”, “forget”.
Daily communication
Is it appropriate to say "capture" in everyday life? This word is bright, expressive in its own way, attracts attention. Unfortunately not suitable for official documents. Although it can be used at receptions and in public speaking to demonstrate the speaker's erudition, adherence to conservative views, as well as the pleasure of meeting business partners and clients.
The concept is literally permeated with romanticism, it sounds elegant. As part of a work of art or a novel on a historical theme, it will look organic. But from conversations with friends, casual acquaintances and youth, it is betterdelete to avoid misunderstandings.
