Despite its quirkiness, "homegrown" is a word that is sometimes used. At first it is difficult to say in what context. As always, the context is determined by the speaker. Our task is to clarify the meaning, make sentences and explain why homegrown is sometimes bad.

Returning to the fact that man is a social animal. Andrey Alekseevich Astvatsaturov in his book “And Not Only Salinger…” has an excellent illustration of the section heading. He somehow ended up in a poetry club, where the young generation of the creative intelligentsia read poetry. The compositions, apparently, were still the same, so A. A. Astvatsaturov asked the young people whether they rely on someone else or create on their own. "Talants" said that they write poetry "from the head." In the same chapter, the author of the book considered T. S. Eliot, who encoded several references to various mythologies in his poem "The Waste Land". Thus, club poets are the mediocre who think they are original, and T. S. Eliot is the genius rooted in cultural tradition. The moral of the story is this: you can’t stew in your own juice, especially when it comes to intellectual activity.

We realized that being homegrown is bad. But more importantly, we understand why this is bad. Now it remains only to turn to synonymsadjective:
