History of the village
The village of Konstantinovo was founded at the beginning of the 17th century and has almost four hundred years of history. At that time, the place belonged to the royal family. After some time, the princes Myshetsky and Volkonsky received ownership as a gift.
Most of it went to one of the Myshetsky brothers - Yakov, whose lands were inherited by his daughter Natalya, who married K. A. Naryshkin - an approximate Peter the Great. Later, the descendants of the Naryshkins, Golitsyns, Olsufyevs became the owners. In 1987, the honorary citizen of Moscow, millionaire I. P. Kulakov became the owner of the village, after his death, his daughter, Lidia Ivanovna Kashina, became the owner.
But Konstantinovo became most famous later - already in the 20th century. On October 3, 1895, the future poet Sergei Yesenin was born here. Sergei Alexandrovich's childhood and youth passed in this place. The name of the village itself is not mentioned in his works, butthe reader cannot but feel the inseparable connection of the two components: Yesenin - Motherland. She is sung in the form of a collective image in many of his poems.
Yesenin Literary Museum
In the center of the village there is a memorial complex - the Yesenin Museum, it looks like an ordinary house with carved shutters on three windows. In fact, the hut in which the poet lived from the age of 15 burned down 3 years before his death. Not without the efforts of Yesenin's sisters - Ekaterina and Alexandra - the spirit of the situation that was during the life of their brother was recreated.
On the territory of the complex grow trees planted by Sergei Alexandrovich a year before his death, a temporary hut with a straw roof and a barn in which the poet wrote some of his famous poems are open to the public.
Other attractions
The village of Konstantinovo is also famous for its architectural monument of the 17th century - the Kazan Church. Initially, it was wooden, so it often burned. It was rebuilt numerous times, and later, at the end of the 18th century, a stone version was erected by Golitsyn's decree. From that moment on, the temple was monitored and protected from any external influences. The parents of S. Yesenin got married in the church, and after that the poet himself was baptized in it. With the coming to power of the Bolsheviks, the temple began to be used as a barn and warehouse for agricultural machinery. Currently used for its intended purpose.
Zemskaya school was built by order of the merchant S. Kupriyanov to educate peasant children. Sergei Yesenin studied in it from the age of 9, she wasdestroyed, then rebuilt in 1994. At the school, you can see an exposition that tells about the student period of the poet's life, his mentors, in general, about zemstvo schools and their role in the educational and upbringing process.
The Chapel of the Holy Spirit is located across the street from the church, the original appearance has not been preserved, restored in 2002.
Pleases the eye and the park in honor of Sergei Yesenin. In 1970, it was decided to set up a small, cozy park next to the poet's stepfather's house. In 2007, a monument to the poet was erected at its base.
Natural Beauty
Rybnovsky district is proud of its picturesque nature, typical Russian flavor. Konstantinovo united everything at once: inconspicuous rickety huts with carved shutters, and plowed fields, and wide meadows with fragrant herbs, and birch groves, and numerous streams and lakes. The steep bank of the Oka opens up distant distances, mounds that can be admired endlessly. All this selflessly loved the national poet Sergei Yesenin.
