History of the establishment of the institution
Voronezh Pedagogical University began its history as a teacher's institute, opened in the city in 1914.
17 years later (in 1931) the Voronezh Pedagogical Institute was founded. Its origins were such eminent scientists as A. P. Kiselev, S. V. Ivanov, P. V. Kapterev and many others.
In the first year, the institution worked for the needs of the agricultural sector, and the university was agrarian and pedagogical, but soon the regulatory documentation changed, and the institute became exclusively pedagogical.
