Tashchemta - what does this word mean? Today it is quite popular in the slang speech of modern youth and representatives of the rock subculture. Despite its popularity, "tashchemta" is not included in the norm of the Russian literary language and, in fact, is even colloquial.
Origin of the word
Where did this strange linguistic phenomenon come from? The answer does not take long to look for - in the colloquial speech of those who are "in the know", the word came from the individual lexicon of the famous Russian rock musician, founder and leader of the Soviet and Russian metal band Corrosion of Metal, Sergei Troitsky, nicknamed Spider. According to one of the many versions, the word arose as a result of the merger of words of different styles: the colloquial “so-and-so” and the more literary combination “in general.”
As a result of the so-called telescopic merging of words (when the beginning of one and the end of the other is taken - a rather rare and interesting way of word formation for the Russian language) the word "tashchemta" was obtained, which means "actually", "in general", "so that". Generally quite abstract, can also mean "for example", "accidentally", etc.
Context and usage examples
Usually the word "taschemta" is used as an introductory construction or interjection. It can be used in unusual places between words, in those places in a sentence where it would be a stylistic mistake to use the listed literary analogues. Almost always carries an ironic, mocking character. Sometimes it means a reference to the author of the word Spider, to any stories with his participation, his statements, as well as the story of "Metal Corrosion". More often used in Internet communication than in oral colloquial speech: usually on forums, blogs, social networks, memes.
