One of the outstanding naval commanders of the USSR is Rear Admiral Alexandrov Alexander Petrovich. He went through a difficult life path and was able to rise from an unknown person to one of the most famous admirals of the Soviet fleet. He made a great contribution to the fight against the Nazis in the Black and B altic Seas. Alexandrov planned and directed many important operations, thanks to which the enemy was defeated more than once. He did not enjoy the love of command, but even they respected him for his talents and skills.

Starting service in the Red Army

Future Rear Admiral Alexandrov Alexander Petrovich, his birth name was Bar, was born in 1900 in the seaside city of Odessa. He grew up in the family of a poor merchant. In his youth, he changed his surname to Alexandrov, and in the same year he joined the Communist Party and the Red Army.

A year later, in the process of service, he was transferred to the Navy. Alexandrov took an active part in the Civil War, fighting on the side of the Reds. After graduation, he took up the position of districtcommandant in Odessa, concurrently being the commander of a naval military formation based in the city.

Aleksandrov A. P. for some time was a commander in Kotovsky's army, led a cavalry regiment. From the local authorities, he was empowered to control water transport in the Black Sea, near the coastal waters of Odessa. The future Rear Admiral made a great contribution to the victory of the Bolsheviks during the Civil War.

In the 20s, he successfully studied for five years at the Naval Academy. Having successfully completed it, from the 30s he served in the B altic Fleet as a senior assistant to the captain of a battleship. For a short time he was chief of staff of the battleship brigade. After that, he took some respite and underwent a scientific internship at the Maritime Academy, while teaching at the same time.

But Alexandrov was not particularly interested in such work, and soon he returned to the fleet again. After completing retraining courses for senior officers at the Military Academy, in 1931 he became commander of the legendary cruiser Aurora.

Teaching and business trip to Spain

Being in this position, Alexandrov A. P. again decides to go into science and engage in teaching. He tried to achieve as much as possible and not only diligently taught cadets, but also engaged in self-education in his spare time. As a result, from an ordinary teacher, in just a couple of years, he was able to grow first to the head of the department, and a year later he became the headHeadquarters of the Naval Academy, and the next - acting chief.

In the middle of 1937 he was seconded to Spain. Returning home at the end of the year, he was convicted of treason and eventually repressed in 1938. Two years later, he was acquitted and reinstated in the ranks of the Soviet Navy.

Participation in the Second World War

In the 1940s Aleksandrov A. P. served as commander of the Novorossiysk base of the Black Sea Fleet. During the Second World War, he participated in the organization of the defense of the Crimea and commanded the Azov flotilla. During one of the military operations, he violated military discipline, for which he was arrested and sent to control the USSR navy. This was followed by exclusion from the army structures, and then, literally six months later, another rehabilitation and restoration in the navy.

After rehabilitation, he was given command of the Leningrad naval base. They did a lot to improve its defense capability. The new commander did everything to ensure that his subordinates were distinguished by excellent training. He took part in planning and landing in Ust-Tosno and crossing the Neva. Alexandrov led the Neva Brigade of Troops, for whose courage and heroism, as well as for his personal participation in operations, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

Since 1944, the fleet and naval aviation under his command repulsed the attacks of the German fleet, covered the movement of columns along the road of life. For the successful completion of the assigned tasks, Rear AdmiralAleksandrov was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War.

After the end of the war, he was the commander of the B altic Fleet. He was awarded many orders and medals, for example, the Order of Nakhimov and the Red Banner. Rear Admiral Alexandrov Alexander Petrovich worked for several months in Finland, from where hundreds of thousands of tons of valuable cargo were taken to the USSR, several warships were transferred. Killed in January 1946 near Tallinn.
