History of KubGAU
Kuban Agrarian University in Krasnodar is considered one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education. In 1918, its history began - at that time, an agricultural department was created on the basis of the Kuban Polytechnic, and in 1922 the institution received legal independence. At the beginning of 1960, economic speci alties were opened at the institute, which significantly increased the flow of students. The Agrarian University today is a huge student association with a developed infrastructure. The whole complex covers an area of 174 hectares, which is located:

Agronomy and Ecology
This faculty of Krasnodar Agricultural University was founded in 1918. The pride of the faculty is its graduates - breeders: P. P. Lukyanenko and V. S. Pustovoit, V. A., Kovda, G. S. Galeev. Over the years of the faculty's work, more than 16 thousand people have received the profession of agronomist. Most of them work as agronomists, chief agronomists, heads of farms in the agro-industrial complex of the region and beyond.
Agrochemistry
The Faculty of Agrochemistry of the Krasnodar Agrarian University was established in 1964. Graduatedspecialists of this department provide services for the production of crop products. They are engaged in agrochemical, agroecological, soil research, carry out environmental control.
Architecture and Civil Engineering Faculty
This faculty was opened in 1974. Since its foundation, more than 2,600 civil engineers, more than 400 architectural engineers, and about 100 masters have been graduated. Students study in classrooms equipped with modern technologies.
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
This faculty was urgently founded in 1974, because there was an urgent need for veterinarians in the region. Currently, 4 thousand graduates of the faculty have the highest qualifications. 12 masters with a specialization in veterinary medicine, graduates of the Krasnodar State Agrarian University, work in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
Hydroamelioration
In 1951, this faculty was first founded, and in 1954 it was closed due to centralization. But when irrigation (hydraulic) construction began in the Kuban, there was an urgent need for hydraulic engineers. And on April 21, 1969, the Faculty of Irrigation and Reclamation was reopened.
Land Management Faculty
This faculty was opened in 1993 on the basis of the Department of Geodesy of the Faculty of Land Reclamation and Water Management. In 1998, the preparation of students at the Faculty of Land Management began. Graduates are engaged in the evaluation of land and real estate, carry out work onsurveying, establishing boundaries, preparing documentation and registering land ownership and other types of work performed by the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography.
Faculty of Animal Science
The faculty was founded in 1950. Thanks to the acquired knowledge, graduates successfully work in the field of genetics and selection, are engaged in the production and processing of livestock products, work with clients on insurance and lending to livestock enterprises.
Faculty of Mechanization
The first intake of students took place in 1950. The faculty not only trains qualified specialists, but also provides students with practice places, provides vacancies for graduates at the most progressive enterprises. The Faculty of Mechanics of the Krasnodar Agrarian University has a military department, graduates receive the military rank of officer.
Faculty of Process Technology
This faculty was originally established in 1925 on the basis of the department of agricultural technology and commodity science of the Kuban Agricultural Institute. The faculty resumed its work in 1999, the department of horticulture and viticulture was taken as the basis. Students learn to independently produce (using technology) and taste the manufactured products, and then conduct a complete analysis of them.
Vegetable growing and viticulture
This is one of the oldest faculties wasfounded in 1922. For 85 years, more than 9 thousand highly qualified agronomists, horticultural growers and winegrowers have been trained here. Since 2016, the specialization "Ornamental horticulture" has been introduced, and since 2007 the specialization "Viticulture and grape processing (winemaking)" has been introduced.
Applied Informatics
This faculty at the Agrarian University of Krasnodar was opened relatively recently - in 2000. Works in the following areas:
- Applied Informatics;
- Business Informatics;
- Information Systems and Technologies.
The Faculty of Applied Informatics prepares highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology.
Faculty of Management
It was founded in 2001, training is conducted in the following areas: "State and municipal administration", "Management", profile "Management of the organization". Specialists can successfully work in the field of economics, psychology, management, and jurisprudence. The faculty has a military department.
Accounting and Finance Faculty
The year of foundation of the faculty is 1978. Its graduates are highly qualified specialists: chief accountants, heads of financial and economic services, auditors, employees of tax and audit authorities, employees of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Finance and credit
The faculty was established in 1996, it has trained over 3500 qualified specialists. Graduates occupy leading positions in various fields:analytical, research, settlement and financial, organizational and managerial, banking.
Department of Economics
The faculty was formed on the basis of the Department of Land Law about a century ago. The Faculty of Economics was established in 1960. It now implements training in 12 curricula at three levels of higher education.
Energy
It was founded in April 1970. Until 1999, training was conducted in only one specialization - "Electrification of technological processes." Later, another specialization was opened - "Energy Supply of Enterprises", and the department became known as the Faculty of Energy and Electrification.
Law Faculty
The date of its creation is October 1991. The teaching staff is 152 people, 128 of them have a scientific degree, 32 teachers have a doctoral degree. The students are taught by well-known lawyers and scientists in the country. Graduates hold senior positions in state and law enforcement structures.
