The English language is wide and multifaceted, but when it comes to grammar, many fall into a stupor. How to understand this diversity of times? How to remember, when they are used, the grammatical structures of each?

Actually, it's not that hard. All it takes is a systematic and intelligent approach.

Active and passive voices
Active and passive voices

First you need to remember that in English there are twelve tenses of the active voice (Active Voice) and eight - passive (Passive Voice). This article presents a table, Passive Voice exercises with answers, as well as the rule itself.

When to use Passive Voice

The passive voice in English, like the passive voice in Russian, is used when the action is performed not by the subject himself, but by someone from outside. For example, the dishes were washed. The dish in this case does not perform the action on its own, it occurs above it. Hence the verb in the passive (passive)pledge - was washed. It's simple.

It is worth remembering that not all tenses of the active voice are used in the passive. For a better understanding, let's turn to the pivot table. All tenses of the passive voice are built according to the same pattern: the verb to be (in the correct form) + the verb in the 3rd form.

Let's explain. This means that only the verb to be will change in tense. For a better assimilation of the rule, it is necessary to study the table, as well as work out the exercises with the Passive Voice answers, which are presented in this article below.
