Most secondary technical and higher educational institutions have requirements for the design of text works of their students. And it is right! Unification and bringing to a common order is an important stage in organizational activity. Imagine how difficult it would be for us if there were no uniform quality standards. You have
TV broken? You come to the store for details to it. And the details that supposedly should fit do not even fit in size, not to mention other qualities. Two different factories produce the same brand of car, but each with its own special characteristics. And you are forced to contact the exact factory in another city where your car was assembled. Since similar parts from a neighboring factory do not suit you. Also with documents. It would be very difficult to evaluate the work of students or understand the drawings of engineers, if the design, the list of references were done as they please, and banal things like symbols were put down at the discretion of the author. Compliance with the requirements and uniform rules is the beginning of order! So, in order to correctly arrange the list of references in your work, you should contact the relevant statea standard that governs things that interest you. And just do everything according to the directions.
How to issue a list of references according to GOST. General recommendations
The design of text documentation in general in our country is regulated by GOST 2.105.95. When writing your term paper, diploma or other type of work, be sure to refer to it so as not to get into a mess. On the question of exactly how to draw up a list of references in accordance with GOST, GOST 7.32.2001 will answer you. The standard was approved in 2004. And today it is the latest and most complete standard, which contains standards for publishing and librarianship, the rules for preparing research reports. Before you draw up a list of references in accordance with GOST, I would recommend that you collect all the used literature and sources together, and arrange it in alphabetical order. This is a GOST recommendation. Sources of an official nature are listed at the beginning of the list. Sources in foreign languages are displayed after the Russian-language list also in alphabetical order. All sources must be numbered.
