Africa is considered to be a fairly large continent, the second after Eurasia. It is located in the Eastern Hemisphere and occupies one fifth of the land area of the entire earth. From all sides, the continent is washed by water: in the west - by the Atlantic Ocean, in the east - by the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean, in the north - by the Mediterranean Sea, and the Suez Canal separates it from Asia. This is a huge number of peoples and tribes, cultures and beliefs.
African countries, of which more than fifty, small and large, are located on the territory of this continent, until recently were part of European countries, as their colonies. And only since the 60s African countries, the tribes and peoples living in them, began to manage their states themselves. But the years of bondage were not in vain. Foreign states were not interested in the training and development of the peoples and territories of their colonies, they further divided the peoples of this continent, forcing them to fight against each other, so there was poverty, illiteracy everywhere, and the borders of some states divided nationalitiesinto two opposing camps. African countries were still delayed in development due to the lack of qualified specialists. In Africa, many nearby tribes speak different languages and have different religions. The intolerant attitude of the white population towards blacks hampered development and technological progress. Many countries in Africa are still struggling with this problem, such as Somalia, Sudan, Rwanda.
But already in the 90s, when Nelson Mandela, who was democratically elected, became the president of the Republic of South Africa, and a black man, all African countries saw “the light at the end of the tunnel.”
And yet, their national culture, traditions, due to colonization, have undergone a strong change. Arabs and Europeans had a special influence on African countries. Accordingly, Egypt, the Maghreb and other countries of the northern part of the African continent reckon more with the Arab culture and accept it. They are joined in this by African countries located on the west coast, Madagascar, Zanzibar and Mauritius.
The rest of the continent has more European influence. Moreover, such an African country as South Africa has taken the English direction of development. Namibia soon joined in.
Russia has long had diplomatic relations with Africa, even under Catherine II, they were established with Morocco and at the end of the 19th century with Ethiopia.
Africa is rich in its fabulous nature, combining wild vegetation andendless desert. Also, the people inhabiting the continent profess Sunni Islam in the north, Christianity, Islam and local religions in Tropical Africa, and Catholic and Protestant Christianity, as well as Judaism in the South.
Unique historical monuments of the first civilizations attract many tourists from different countries to Africa, so this type of business is already quite developed here, although more in border countries, because very dense thickets of vegetation and animals living there block the way to many places.
