Choosing a higher educational institution, especially for an undecided yesterday's schoolboy, is a rather serious problem. Our article will tell about two well-known universities that are in great demand among applicants from year to year - this is the All-Russian State University of Cinematography. S. A. Gerasimov (VGIK) and the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU). Let's start with the first one.
VGIK was founded in 1919 in Moscow as an institute, and in 2008 it was renamed into a university. Today, VGIK is famous for releasing from its walls the most famous directors, actors, editors and cameramen. VGIK conducts entrance exams in the following speci alties: actors of the drama theater and cinema, cameramen, film writers, directors of various types, video critics, sound engineers, editors (literary staff), artists-directors.

General education subjects, such as Russian language and literature (according to the results of the Unified State Examination), are given in front of him. Stage 1 consists of reading by heart a fable or an excerpt from a poem or prose; also at this stage, musical and plastic data are checked. At the second stage, an interview is conducted with each applicant individually, during which his knowledge in the field of cinematography, both domestic and world, is clarified, and the general cultural level is also determined. No more than 17 people can be taken to the budget department, up to 10 people to the paid one.
The cost of one academic year at this university is about 162,000 rubles. Not a little, isn't it, but what a future awaits a young talented actor! Applicants who already have a higher education pass all the necessary exams in a general manner. A hostel is provided for the period of study.
RGGU - admission rules
Others pass the entrance exams at the RSUH. This is understandable, because RSUH has a completely different focus. This higher educational institution trains within its walls specialists in history, political science, philosophy, philology, specialists in public relations, religious studies and journalism. We will consider the entrance exams at the Russian State University for the Humanities using the example of admission to the Faculty of Political Science. So, to become a student, you need to pass to the Russian State University for the Humanitiesentrance exams:
- Russian language;
- social studies;
- story;
- foreign language.
All exams are taken in the form of the Unified State Examination. In 2012, the RSUH provided 9 state-funded places in political science. The cost of studying at a paid department is 69,600 rubles.
