In society, there is always invisibly or obviously a certain criterion, from which people start when making decisions. What needs to be done in a particular situation, and what actions will be unacceptable? There is such a measure in the conditions of capitalism - this is a purebred! The jargon seems rude, but is used by a wide variety of social groups, and its interpretation easily changes depending on the context. But how and when did the word appear, in what situations would it be appropriate? Let's deal with the etymology.
Where are you in a hurry?
Some philologists clearly point to a connection with the verb "drive" or the noun "gon". Vasmer adheres to a similar version. Moreover, the main semantic load falls on the definition of "pure" in the formation of the term under study. They imply either a person's pursuit of a primordial object purified from impurities, or the excellent quality of an object. Consider possible interpretations - and then the questions will disappear.
Want to cash in?
Most Russian-speaking citizens know only one meaning. And this common meaning of the word "chistogan" falls into two versions:
- cashmoney;
- income, profit.
Why are they like this? The colloquial concept arose among not the richest people, for whom every penny was a value. They could easily pay for their living with housework or exchange food for things, that is, for something “dirty” that needs to be subsequently adapted on the farm or sold. Against this backdrop, money was a "pure", universal unit for buying goods or services.
When calculating, the accounting department issued banknotes in hand, but previously deducted all taxes, which “cleared” earnings, and the funds received were already fully owned by the person. So there could be an option with personal income. The definition periodically has a negative figurative meaning: profit and the pursuit of it in the framework of dubious terminology are often associated with criminal acts.

There are also non-standard values. For some citizens, chistogan is a euphemism for moonshine that has gone through several degrees of filtration. A strong effect and minor consequences for the body will be a reward for those who followed the recipe and cooking technology.
Also used ironically to refer to objects related to cleaning. Local jargon occasionally goes beyond the collective and is deciphered in different ways. Even wagons can be called original after the unloading of scrap metal, in which there is a minimum of garbage.
Should I say it?
The word has no place in an official speech. Yes, and in communication withcolleagues or people you barely know, it is better to refrain from a capacious description. It has a strong negative connotation, which can have a bad effect on the perception of you as a potential business partner or future friend. And friends and family will easily accept a sonorous concept, even if they do not approve of its use.
