The biography of this man until today haunts historians, businessmen and economists who are trying in vain to understand the formula for success, which was so easily guessed by the Greek billionaire.

Aristotle Onassis: biography

Fate favored this man from the very beginning of his life. He was born into the family of a very successful businessman who sold tobacco products. It happened in January 1906 in the city of Smyrna. By the way, then this territory still belonged to Greece, and later was annexed to the Turkish state. Today Smyrna is known as Izmir. The boy's parents had everything: a luxurious house, a successful business, impressive incomes. However, with the arrival of the Turkish army, everything came to an end. The family was urgently forced to leave their native lands and fled into the depths of Greece. The son, who by that time had become a teenager, was sent to Argentina in search of a better life. In a new country for himself, Aristotle Onassis first of all got a job - inpost office in Buenos Aires. And spent some time sitting all day long in the post office. However, such a service brought the young man extremely low earnings, which definitely did not suit him.

Then Aristotle decided to deal with postal affairs on the night shift, and during the day to take up a familiar and familiar business for him - trade. And from that moment on, his life began to change rapidly. After all, the tobacco trade was a disproportionately more profitable business. Thanks to his penetrating abilities, perseverance and, most importantly, incredible sociability, the guy soon managed to make a small capital. Successful trade not only significantly improved Aristotle's financial condition, but also influenced his future fate: his compatriots who worked at the Greek Embassy in the capital of Argentina paid attention to such an enterprising young man. The guy was offered a tempting post of Consul General, which he accepted with pleasure. However, having taken up administrative work, Aristotle Onassis did not at all abandon his modest business. And soon things got big. Already by the 25th anniversary, he had earned his first million. A special gift and the experience acquired by that time suggested to the young now already millionaire where to direct his steps further in business. He quickly grasped the global economic trends of the mid-20th century and concentrated all his efforts on the construction and operation of oil tankers.
