When adult life begins, a person ceases to belong to himself. He immediately has many worries. Of course, most of these anxieties and worries are related to work. A person who is always in a hurry somewhere and every day marks out a schedule for the day, we call "business". But let's talk about another adjective, which for some reason gives rise to frivolous associations. We will talk about the definition of "businesslike". This is our object of study.

Strange, but if you do not look in the dictionary, it seems that the adjective we are considering has some kind of almost frivolous character. The suffix "-ovit-" is to blame. But this should not confuse the reader. The meaning of the adjective is the most serious and positive. The dictionary states the following: “smart and serious, enterprising.”

I remember the movie "Office Romance" and a quote from it:"Enterprising, how enterprising." Of course, in this case, the synonym of the word is used in an ironic sense, but seriously speaking, for a successful person, such a characteristic is, of course, praise.

Why does the ideology of success not take root in our land?

No, of course, we all want a lot of money and to be loved. And we are not at all against business, as well as businesslike people. This is clear. But for some reason the Russians just can't seem to take this whole big game seriously. It seems that we have found a clue: everything rests on the language, or rather, on one phrase - “business sausage”. It is not clear where this wonderful phraseological unit came from, but there are different versions. For example, there is a verb "sausage", that is, "to spend time in a fuss." Sometimes it is suggested that sausage is just such a pair of adjectives to emphasize the frivolity of a person who wants, on the contrary, to appear terribly serious.

Yes, the second version is interesting. Remember also that we have "Doctor's" sausage. And if there is "Doctorskaya", then why can't there be a brand of "Business" sausage? By the way, this is almost a ready-made business idea, because sales will be incredible due to the self-irony inherent in Russians. In a word, a treasure for business people, and it's completely free.

There is nothing wrong with being busy, but for some reason many people equate "busy", "serious" and "successful". And the lack of time is considered an indicator of adulthood. Children, as you know, really want to grow up, andthen, reaching their goal, they strive back to the blissful state from which they left. There is nothing interesting in the adult world. Having lived a little life as an adult, you involuntarily begin to understand Peter Pan. This is all to the fact that if a businesslike person is an adult ideal, men and women, in principle, have no incentive to grow up, which is why we now have so many infantile people. But this is not the main reason why the ideology of success does not want to take root. The main problem is our self-irony.

We have sorted out the meaning of the word "businesslike" and, hopefully, a little entertained the reader.
