In 1967, the purchase of Alaska by the United States of America took place, and the city passed to the disposal of the American government. In the same year, the settlement was renamed. For several years, Sitka was the capital of the state, but then the city of Juneau was formed, which replaced it in this status.

On the way back to Nome, Gunnar was paralyzed from the cold, but B alto remembered the way home and delivered the serum. Hundreds of children were saved.
