History of the University
The university began its activity in the 60s of the last century. Moreover, at first it was a general technical faculty, which was part of the Polytechnic Institute of the city of Kyiv, but the location was the city of Chernihiv.
The first year back in 1960 enrolled 175 students, and there were no more than twenty teachers. The post of dean of the general technical faculty belonged to Evgeny Grigorievich Kalita.

1994 was a turning point for the institution. It became more and more difficult for higher education institutions to survive due to the difficult financial situation at the transitional stage after the collapse of the USSR and the formation of an independent Ukrainian state. Then it was decided to create an engineering and economic faculty. 1994 was a turning point for the university, so then he received a license and accreditation (today this institution has a 4th levelaccreditation).
The July days of 1999 brought the institute a new status, namely the Chernihiv State Technological University. Later, after twelve years, another university was added to it. It was the Institute of Law and Social Technologies of the city of Chernihiv (a few years later, in 2014 it was named the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Social Technologies).
It became a national university only in 2013. Thus, today its name is as follows: Chernihiv National Technological University (ChNTU). In 2014, the Institute of Economics and Management was added to it, and the structure of the educational institution changed again.
Preparing students
Chernihiv National Technological University conducts professional training of students at all currently existing educational levels - bachelor, specialist, master. The university has about forty different speci alties and areas of study, including postgraduate.

The University was awarded the Certificate of Educational Quality Management System in accordance with the generally accepted international standard ISO9001. This institution of higher education is an active member of several academic organizations. Among them are the Association of Technical Universities of the CIS, as well as the International Association of Slavic Universities.

The Faculty of Finance and Economics offers to teach students about finance, banking and the basic principles of insurance; management or management of security issues in the field of finance and economics. This is a division with a focus on specific disciplines.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering provides professional training for builders and civil engineers (hydraulic engineers, for example), as well asprofessionals in the field of geodesy and related land management technologies. Today it is quite a promising area.
