Many questions arise among young people and their parents: study or work? Which option is better? That's what we'll talk about in this article. It is important for us to understand what is currently more profitable. Unfortunately, almost every day the situation not only in the country, but also in the world is changing: yesterday doctors were in demand, today lawyers, and tomorrow, perhaps, none of them will be needed.
It is important for every person not to be left without a piece of bread. Let's look at possible options for avoiding risks for the younger generation: schoolchildren, college students, graduates of both institutions.
Preparing in advance
If you are still in school, class, for example, seventh or eighth, then decide what interests you. Let's say:
- draw pictures and logos well in Photoshop;
- you know how to bake not only delicious, but also beautiful cakes;
- write poetry or books;
- draw pictures, come up with patterns for cross stitch;
- make music and so on.
The list is endless. Even a young photographer can becomeprofessional if desired. Most likely, only the experience accumulated in school or student years will save. In moments of crisis, the question will not particularly arise: study or work after school? Now let's explain why.
Use your talent
Now the crisis is almost everywhere. Unfortunately, large enterprises are closing in Russia, and specialists are being laid off. People are accustomed to work at the enterprise and receive a salary from the employer. But there may come a period when a person is fired for any reason and he gets complete freedom. There may not be a chance to find a new job, especially if a person can’t do anything else, there is no experience.
So the good and forgotten old will come to the rescue - talent, school skill. For example, you beautifully painted pictures, portraits. Try to start over. Despite the fact that writers, artists and poets earn very little, you can still try. For example, not only to draw portraits in the square, but also to print calendars with the author's image.
It all depends on you, the choice is yours and you must decide too: study or work. At 20, you can become famous and get rich. But remember: first of all - hard work and self-promotion.
Go to college?
If you have knowledge, means, then, of course, go to study. Choose a speci alty to your liking. You can learn something new at the same time. For example, you are studying economics, studying mathematics, foreign languages.
You can easily learn English. Continue to study it seriously or learn an additional language in parallel. Competent translators earn good money, you can cooperate with foreign organizations. You can study or work, or both. Now freelancing is well developed. Finding a regular customer is not difficult, but you need to look for an honest one. No work experience
Many students earn extra money at McDonald's, couriers, loaders at night. Such work will bring profit, but to develop talent, skills, most likely, will not help. It is better to look for creative work. But if they don’t take you anywhere, then it’s better to study at home in your free time. After the ninth grade, you can go to almost any college. Sometimes the choice of speci alties is much larger in vocational schools and colleges than in institutes. For example, you can become an excellent pastry chef after 3 years of study, while at the same time a full-time student at the institute is studying boring subjects related to the food industry.
Now imagine these two students. What will happen to the first? He will work: bake cakes, make wonderful dishes. He has experience in restaurants or pizzerias, in a confectionery factory. A specialist with a higher education runs the risk of being left without a profession, as there is no experience. And what is better to do: study or work in this case? Of course, to work. By the way, if there is a desire to get a higher education, but you cannot quit your job, then there is always a chance to study in absentia or remotely.
Do I need a higher education?
After reading a couple of subheadings above, many of you will probably think: why then higher education, if it may not be needed? But it is worth noting that not everything is so simple. Until the 2000s, there were not so many people with higher education. You could go to work almost anywhere, the main thing is to have knowledge, experience, diligence.
Unfortunately, the modern world of work is tightening the requirements. For example, on the railway and in the subway, people with higher education are more and more often hired, even for low positions. What if, in 10 years, all locksmiths and technicians will be forced to receive a higher specialized education or will they be asked to leave of their own free will? Unfortunately, in the field of railway transport, everything is moving towards this. Therefore, even if you dream of becoming an assistant locomotive driver, then don’t think for a long time whether to study or work for you, it’s better to immediately prepare for the entrance exams to the university.
Wishes instead of conclusions
Be sure to choose a speci alty to your liking in order to do what you love, to be useful. After all, your profession is for life. Currently, many people do not work in their speci alty. Why? Because they do not hire without experience or do not like the profession.
