The secret is always kept by someone and protected by something. The ancient secrets of the Egyptian pyramids, the sacred secrets of the Mayan Indians, the secrets of the Tibetan monks. Where does the mystery come from?
Mystery, meaning of the word
Dictionaries give three meanings for this word:
- Something unknown, unsolved.
- Things the uninitiated shouldn't know.
- Hidden reason.
The root "tai" apparently comes from "hide", "hidden place".
Secrets of nature
Some natural phenomena have not yet found an explanation. One such mystery is the Taos noise. In the state of New Mexico, near the village of Taos, a sound is heard similar to the operation of a diesel engine. A person hears it, but the devices cannot catch it. It is only known that these are very low sounds.
The Bermuda Triangle, lying in the ocean, is famous for the failure of navigational instruments and the loss of ships. It has not yet been possible to study this phenomenon.
Another mystery is the Loch Ness monster, which was even captured on film and video. Its nature is unclear to this day, scientists only speculate whether it is a sea snake or a descendant of dinosaurs. Does it actually exist or is it an objectfabrications? Expeditions have not found anything worthy of attention, but eyewitness accounts continue to come in.
Craft secrets
The Hermitage keeps ancient Greek items made of gold, covered with a pattern of tiny gold balls. They were soldered by ancient jewelers, but how they did it is still unclear. Modern technology allows a lot, but such small balls either do not solder or melt.
There is a similar technique, granulation, but the balls are much larger there. Apparently, the melting point was clearly calibrated. But the ancient masters did not have burners and appliances.
The Stradivarius violin has a wonderful concert sound. The master did not reveal the secret to anyone. They tried to look for the cause in the materials, the composition of the varnish, the uneven inner surface. All attempts to explain the formation of a pure strong sound have failed. For more than three hundred years, the master's tools live, but do not age. They sound like they did under Stradivari.
Mystery in Holy Scripture
The familiar expression "mystery with seven seals" originates in the Bible. The Apostle John received a revelation in which the One seated on the throne holds in his hands a book sealed with seven seals. Gradually the Lamb of God removes them and John describes the future that was hidden in the scroll.
The mystery, the meaning of which is gradually revealed, is the content of the book of Revelation. Now the expression has acquired a figurative meaning and means inaccessible knowledge. May occur in an ironic context: “To me too, a secretwith seven seals! Everyone knows that.”
"Mystery" is a word that is mentioned again in Revelation. In the vision, the Whore of Babylon sits on a red beast, and has the inscription "mystery" on her forehead. This means that she hides the truth from people.
In the end, everything secret becomes clear. Time passes, and all the knowledge that the ancients carefully concealed becomes available to people. But some secrets still apply. Moreover, you can't do without them.
The secret of bank deposits
According to the law of the country, a credit institution must keep secret about the movement of accounts of depositors. There is even Article 26 of the Federal Law on Bank Secrecy. It does not mean hiding information from law enforcement if the client is a criminal offender.
In Switzerland for more than 300 years, banks guarantee the preservation of information. Even under Louis XVI, the Minister of Finance was a Swiss. A law was passed that sent a bank clerk to jail for violating the secrecy of a deposit.
The European Union passes a law to help track taxation. But Switzerland is not a member of the EU, and the law does not apply to it. Its banks continue to store a third of the world's private capital. The Swiss bank has become a symbol of reliability.

Without secrets, life would be different. There are things that no one has the right to. This is personal information. The person shares it at will. The guarantee of its preservation gives peace of mind and expands opportunities. This is the only way to feel true freedom.
