More than sixty years ago, the history of this branch of USPTU began. Oktyabrsky at that time was just beginning to grow and flourish due to the discovery and development of Tuymazinskaya oil, a unique field that served as a powerful impetus for socio-economic development for the entire Republic of Bashkortostan. At that time, only the evening department of the Ufa Oil Institute was open in Oktyabrsky.

Then the entire Volga-Ural region rose on the Devonian oil, and the town of Oktyabrsky became the epicenter of all this movement. USPTU was a successful institution at that time. But too intensive development of the oil industry in this area required a much larger number of highly qualified specialists. Engineers were needed immediately and right on the spot, that is, preferably without interrupting production needs.
That is why in 1956 theevening department, which eventually became prosperous, and one of the strongest branches of USPTU. Oktyabrsky perceived the emergence of a new university on his territory with great enthusiasm, and already in 1962 the strongest graduate of the oil institute appeared here, since the most voluminous theory was supported by practical work. This fusion made the first graduates the most prominent people in the industry, and their career growth was rapid.
Separate faculty
In 1965, one evening department was not enough, but the path was long and gradual: before the Oktyabrsky branch appeared at USPTU, many various small departments were created. At first it was an evening department, where mechanical engineers were trained. A year later, it was already a day course, and after the second year, students studied in Ufa, and not in their hometown of Oktyabrsky.
UGNTU was still an institute, that is, it did not receive the status of a university, but its oil specialists have always been excellent. In 1970, the Oktyabrsky department became a general technical faculty, and students no longer left their hometown. Only in 1983 the Oktyabrsky branch was formed. USPTU was still an institution until 1993, another ten years. And in 1995, state certification was passed, after which a bachelor's degree appeared in Oktyabrsky with a speci alty in oil and gas business.
Achievements
More than seven thousand wonderful specialists were trained in the city of Oktyabrsky by the faculties of USPTU. All graduates received a very broad profile of profession altraining and now form the foundation of the personnel corps in the fuel and energy complex, and in many other areas of the oil industry, not only in Russia, but also in the near and far abroad.
Very many graduates of the USPTU branch in Oktyabrsky manage the largest associations and companies, work in research institutes, in government structures. Many of them are candidates and doctors of sciences, there are also academicians. Many have been awarded high ranks, medals for valiant labor and orders for labor exploits. And they all thank the Oktyabr branch of USPTU for their knowledge.
Speci alties
Now it is a powerful scientific and methodological, educational and intellectual division, the center of not only material, but also spiritual culture of the west of Bashkortostan. At the department of NPMO, where machines and equipment for oil and gas fields are studied, which already in the second half of the 60s began to train its specialists, future mechanics study. There is excellent equipment here, methods have been developed, and laboratories are equipped.
More than four thousand highly qualified specialists work in the oil industry after studying at this department. These are well-known people - production managers, administrative workers, scientists, such as F. Kh. Mukhametshin, S. B. Kupavykh, N. Kh. Gabdrakhmanov, M. M. Akhtyamov and many others. The contingent of students at the department is constantly increasing, including foreign students studying here.
Scientific work
OnThe department of NPME created more than three hundred scientific papers and received more than one hundred copyright certificates. All this was done on a practical basis. For example, elements of drilling rigs, downhole tools, turbodrills, downhole plunger and screw pumping units and much more for reservoir stimulation.
Now post-graduate students are being trained at the NPME department. All conditions have been created: there are enough research and educational laboratories, only more than twenty original installations in the laboratories. Much has been done for the industry in the Oktyabrsky branch of USPTU. The admissions committee notes the great interest of applicants in these professions. Many of them prefer to study part-time, on the job.
Correspondence department
The educational process and its organization provides for an inseparable connection between the student and production activities, and therefore his creative and intellectual abilities develop more fully, which literally immediately begins to affect the results of work. The Oktyabrsky branch of USPTU has a correspondence department, it existed even when the university was the Ufa Oil Institute.
Now students come here for sessions from various regions of Russia - not only from the Republic of Bashkorstan. There are Dagestanis, Maris, many applicants come annually from neighboring Tatarstan. Even from Yakutia they enter the Oktyabrsky UGNTU. The selection committee considers documents of applicants from neighboring regions - Kurgan, Volgograd, Orenburg, as well as from Perm and Sakhalin. Even from Latvia, Belarus there are students, and a lotfrom Kazakhstan.
Mining and Oil Faculty
At the RRNGM department, bachelors are trained in the field of oil and gas business and in the profiles "Drilling gas and oil wells" and "Maintenance and operation of oil production facilities." Fourteen associate professors and ten professors out of twenty-six teachers teach here - just a stellar department! Comprehensively specialized classrooms and laboratories are equipped with the newest and most modern equipment, instruments and natural samples.
Students master the latest technologies in oil production, skills in hydrodynamic and geological modeling of field development and learn to exercise geophysical control over development. Future oilmen
Many applicants dream of being included in the list of applicants for UGNTU (Oktyabrsky). Even just a list of the names of the laboratories of this department sounds like poetry to them. By the way, all laboratories have been modernized once again over the past few years. Here, students study oil production technology, preparation of well products, technological foundations of drilling, physics of gas and oil reservoirs, field geophysics and geology, drilling and well workover. Students are also eagerly studying at the computer center.
They arm themselves with the skills of the future profession at special courses for operators, assistantsdriller, as well as in practice - production and training and familiarization, which they are happy to provide NK "Rosneft", NK "Lukoil", JSC "Tatneft", PJSC ANK "Bashneft" and many other well-known companies. A huge research work is carried out at the department. Over the past five years, more than one hundred and fifty scientific articles have been published in the Higher Attestation Commission, ten monographs have been published, and more than twenty textbooks have been introduced.
Five academic disciplines in one bottle
ITMEN department studies information technology, mathematics and natural sciences, that is, electrical engineering, chemistry, computer science, physics, mathematics are priorities. This is a very modern combination, specialists of this direction are able to satisfy all the urgent needs of our time. In any case, while this department does not just justify its existence, the educational process here is considered the most perfect among all departments of USPTU (Oktyabrsky). The correspondence department, for example, cannot boast of such a number of classes in such well-equipped laboratories as there are at the ITMEN department.
Despite the special proximity to modern technologies, the traditional historical basis for the training of engineers reigns here, the very "Russian method" is preserved. At the department, all teachers themselves are constantly learning new things, improving their skills, mastering new methods. Here they are able to compile control and measuring materials, remotely teach, evaluate students' knowledge byrating system. Throughout its activity, the ITMEN department has been a recognized leader in introducing the most modern educational technologies into the educational process.
MTM
Mechanics and engineering technology are studied at this department. And this requires knowledge of such general professional disciplines as engineering graphics, technical measurements, materials science, metrology, certification and standardization, strength of materials, theoretical mechanics, hydraulics, design basics and much, much more.
The department is very active in scientific activities, which are aimed both at improving the quality of the educational process and at training the highest qualifications. Therefore, student research activities are of particular importance. Students actively participate in scientific conferences of various levels, they are always successful in subject Olympiads in the following disciplines: strength of materials, theoretical mechanics, descriptive geometry, hydraulics. More than once they were noted among the best at the All-Russian Internet Olympiads in Theoretical Mechanics and Strength of Materials.
SSES
The humanities and socio-economic sciences are studied here. The foundation of this department was the department of social sciences - social science, foreign languages and physical education. Now it is a very complex subdivision in its structure, uniting history, cultural studies, Russian language, philosophy, political science, economics, management fundamentals, foreign languagesand physical education.
The main task of the teachers of the department is to form specialists worthy of being called representatives of the technical intelligentsia, who take an active position in worldviews, are patriots of their native country, treat nature and people humanely. Russian society is now going through a difficult stage in its development, and this task of the teaching staff is all the more difficult, but the department is coping. This can be evidenced by graduates present in state governance structures and public divisions.
Sports
With the advent of the sports and recreation complex - the pride of the October branch of USPTU, the work of the department of SSES has become much more interesting. Because the complex is well equipped with gyms, tennis, weightlifting, chess, billiards, shaping room. There are two recovery centers, and they have saunas, swimming pools, psychological relaxation rooms, as well as a mini-football gym, volleyball hall, and tennis. There is also an outdoor stadium.
As a result, the sports activities of the branch widely attract both employees and students not only to sports, but also to participate in competitions. At the moment, the Oktyabrsky branch of USPTU is the undisputed leader of city sports days, its students take prizes in swimming, volleyball, football, basketball, cross-country skiing, weightlifting, and athletics.
Students
The Oktyabrsky branch of USPTU provides all those in need with a hostel, whereyou can prepare well for seminars and exams and relax in comfort, for this there is everything you need. In the educational building there is a canteen with a good assortment of dishes, the food is almost like homemade. The tenant is LLC "My family". In addition, there is a buffet right in the hostel, where hot meals are also arranged.
On the first floor of the hostel there is a medical office where students, staff and teachers go in case of illness. Nurses from City Hospital No. 1 are on duty at the first-aid post. In the first educational building there is a library with an extensive fund of literature and a reading room for sixty seats.
