Unique in its history and surviving traditions Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk, or school No. 1 named after. F. Engels, - the first school in Chelyabinsk, where they studied English in depth from the 1st grade. It has always been and remains a place of attraction for its graduates. They didn't call it "the star on the city map" for nothing.
History
Gymnasium No. 1 in Chelyabinsk, formerly School No. 1 im. Engels, was established in 1861 as a women's gymnasium. In those days, getting permission to open a school in the city required a lot of effort. The state treasury did not seek to shell out for public education. Only when the necessary amount of money was collected (philistines, artisans, merchants, the mayor V. A. Motovilov and his relative N. A. Birintsev chipped in), the necessary permission was obtained.
The first graduation of students took place after 3 years. And since there were more and more girls who wanted to get an education every year, new teachers were attracted, and the school was constantly moving in search of more spacious classrooms for training. almost every yearnew classes were opened, and by 1905 there were already six of them.
Until 1920, it was an exclusively female gymnasium, which was located in a building on Zwilling Street. In the early 1920s, a reorganization followed - the women's gymnasium was merged with the men's real school. And the educational institution still did not have its own premises.
By 1935 it was a full-fledged high school with a ten-year program of study, which had a new building. Since then, the address of Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk has not changed: Krasnaya street, house 59.
It was in this building that the glory and pride of this unique educational institution began to be created and grow.
Directors
Vladimir Abramovich Karakovsky is the most sonorous and brightest name for the school. He was the director of school No. 1 from 1963 to 1977. It was he who introduced the system of collective creative education, and communal fees began to be held under him.
For an effective methodology in 1971 he was awarded the title of Honored School Teacher of the RSFSR.
Today, the director of Gymnasium No. 1 and a worthy successor to the work of V. A. Karakovsky is Timirkhanov Damir Galikhanovich.
He revived the traditions lost in the 90s, returned the school profile and exclusivity. He also recreated an atmosphere of trust and significance for each participant in the educational process.
Damir Galikhanovich came to school No. 1 as a student - he graduated9-10 grades. After serving in the army, he entered the Pedagogical Institute of Chelyabinsk and at the same time worked as a pioneer leader in the school that became his own. Then he taught, became deputy director and is still the permanent and beloved director of Gymnasium No. 1 for teachers, as well as for students and their parents.
They talk about him the same way they used to talk about V. A. Karakovsky: “Strict but fair.”
Community fees
The history of a unique tradition began in 1963, when several students of the current Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk went to the All-Union camp of the Central Committee of the Komsomol "Eaglet" and took part in the first communard gatherings.
These were the new followers of the Timurov movement - those who helped and supported. Here is a set of rules by which the participants of the COP live:
- The Law of the Red Banner. The most important law. Around the clock, a guard was carried at the banner. Disrespect for him was considered the most serious offense.
- The law of the raised hand. Teaches respect for the thoughts and initiatives of others. He raised his right hand - it means there is something to say. Everyone fell silent and listened intently.
- The law of the song. Communal songs are a special world. Out of respect for the song and the performers, it was not allowed to interrupt the sound until the last chord.
- The law of precision and punctuality. This is respect for each other.
- Live for the smile of a friend!
- Don't squeak!
- Better hard than boring.
- Criticize - offer, offer - do it!
- Think collectively. Work promptly. Argue with evidence. Forall required.
- True, but without high-sounding phrases, beauty, but without embellishment, and goodness not for show - that's what is dear to us!
- Without coercion, the commune lives. The cause is calling: volunteers go ahead!
The communal fees of Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk also have their own anthem and their own motto: "When you leave, leave the light." It's like another planet where there is no place for politics, meanness, indifference.
Alyosha
Gymnasium number 1 is the only one in the city, on the site in front of which there is a monument - a wounded soldier raises a banner, leaning on a machine gun. This is Alyosha. He personifies all the graduates who went to the front of World War II. Their names are carved on the plates, which are installed to the right of the monument. There are 119 names in total. There are footprints from soldiers' boots in front of the slabs. And the search for heroes continues to this day.
Beginning of the creation of the monument - 1968-29-10. At its base was laid a letter to descendants in a sleeve.
Created "Alyosha" disgraced in those days, the sculptor Viktor Bochkarev. The monument was erected with money earned by school students in construction teams, on subbotniks.
Museum
Every year for 50 years, on September 19, a solemn line is held in front of the school porch, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the students and teachers of the school who participated in the war.
And since 1967, a special museum has been created at the school, where materials are collected about all the students of the school who went to the front.
Varvara Mitrofanovna Pimenova did a gigantic job,the last days of her life she conducted search work. It was to Damir Galikhanovich that she, in her last request, bequeathed not to leave the work begun and to bring it to the end. And the head of Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk keeps his word.
Reviews
Modern Gymnasium No. 1 has its own social media groups. Here information is updated daily, life is seething with new events, ideas, wishes.
This is still the best school in town. Former graduates send their children here because they are confident in the high standards of teaching and educating the younger generations. Many teachers who came here as graduates of pedagogical institutes and have worked for more than 40 years are gone. But they passed on to the students who replaced them in the teaching field their love for the profession, for knowledge, for children.
Thanks to D. G. Timirkhanov, his efforts, faith and perseverance in achieving his goals, Gymnasium No. 1 of Chelyabinsk receives only the best reviews from parents, students and graduates. To verify this, just go to the school - at recess, when the lessons are going on, during the period of communal fees, or just read the communication on social networks.
