Even in peacetime, many boys dream of becoming soldiers. Fortunately, the relevant educational institutions throughout the country are a dime a dozen. Here in Penza, for example, there is a wonderful school - the Penza Higher Artillery Engineering School. What faculties and speci alties are there, how to get into this institution, what are its features and history, we will tell further.

History of the creation of the school

The history of the birth of PVAIU them. Voronova (this was once the official name of the school; however, we will not get ahead of ourselves) is rooted in the distant war years. It was then, in the days of bloody battles with the Nazi army, that there was an acute shortage of top-level personnel. Artillery officers were needed, and therefore, in the summer of 1943, by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the Country of Soviets, the Penza Artillery School appeared among the educational institutions of our country.

True, initially it was not Penza, but Tula, because by orderstationed in Tula; and it was not called a school at all, but the Higher Officer Artillery-Technical School. However, after three years, during which three graduations of young officers took place, the school was transferred to Penza, where it took root, and was later renamed the school. This happened, however, far from immediately, but only thirteen years after the formation of the educational institution - in 1958. Until then, the future Penza Artillery School of the Order of the Red Star withstood many upheavals with the name - it was both advanced training courses for officers, and simply artillery and technical courses, and much more. In 1968, the school received the name of the chief artillery marshal in the country Nikolai Voronov - he died that year. So, finally, the educational institution acquired a name that had been holding on to it for several decades.

From the very beginning, the training of future artillery officers at the Penza School was carried out at five faculties: three main, one special additional and correspondence. In addition, they carried out retraining of officers and training of officers who had already received a secondary specialized military education through external studies.

Nineties

From the end of the eighties of the last century, the Penza Artillery School again began to touch one or the other changes. Recruitment for the correspondence department stopped, they stopped training personnel with the help of external students … And then the school was completely abolished, renaming it the Artillery Institute. His honorary "tail" inthe institution also lost the honor of Nikolai Voronov. This wave of changes temporarily ended, but a new century was on the threshold, and with it the next transformations…

In the twenty-first century

In the incomplete nineteen years of the new millennium, a lot has happened to the former Penza Artillery School, and now the PAII (artillery and engineering institute). In 2002, the name of Voronov was returned to him, and seven years later he was introduced as a separate institute into the military educational and scientific center of the ground forces - thus, his "life path" as an independent educational institution ended.

However, as part of the above institution, PAII also did not stay for long - the very next year (that is, in 2010) it was made a branch of this center. Two years later (2012 was in the yard), the former Penza Artillery became a branch of the Military Academy of Logistics, which is located in St. Petersburg - PAII VA MTO. This is at the moment the official name of yesterday's school; however, VA MTO is allowed to be discarded.

Today, former students of the PAII, which celebrated its seventy-fifth anniversary last year, are in high positions both in their native Penza and in other localities of the country. Among them there are people of science - professors, associate professors, candidates, and people of military affairs - including those who have risen to the rank of generals. And just up to the present moment for all the years of existence from the former Penza Artillerymore than seventeen thousand new officers were graduated from the school, who speak extremely positively about their native alma mater.

Education at PAII

In the Penza Artillery, graduates are trained both in the profile of higher education, and in the profile of secondary and primary. And if higher education specialists can apply for only one direction of study, then the secondary one already has three, and the primary one has thirteen. At the exit, having received primary education, you can become a master (you will have to spend only three months for this); with an average status rises to a technician (training time two years ten months); finally, graduates who have received higher education are qualified as an engineer or specialist. As in any other university, it will take five years to study for this. Over the past few years, the competition in PAII has been at least three people per place.

In the former Penza Artillery School there are also advanced training and retraining courses, and the latter is carried out not only in military speci alties, but also in civilian ones - for those military whose service life is coming to an end. And among the speci alties of the Penza Artillery School, according to its head, the direction "Operation of rocket and artillery weapons" attracts the most applicants.

Briefly about the features of training

Like the St. Petersburg university itself, its Penza branch "supplies" to the professional market military specialists in rocket and artillery weapons and their operation, repairartillery devices, small arms, all kinds of controls and so on. The emphasis in training is, of course, on the military component. A lot of time is devoted to the practical development of skills. The latter includes both tactical exercises with shooting, and real live shooting, and much more. Cadets even throw grenades - fortunately, both shooting ranges and a training ground are equipped for these purposes on the territory of the former school.

At the final stage of training, each student must complete an internship. It is being organized in various units and formations of the Armed Forces of our country. But even before graduation, in the process of studying, cadets are waiting for repair practice. As a rule, they pass it at different bases and factories of the Russian defense complex.

By the way, the Penza Artillery has another interesting feature: this branch of the St. Petersburg Academy has been teaching foreigners for more than half a century. Over the past years, more than three thousand military specialists from abroad have been trained - more precisely, from thirty-two countries.

Characteristics of the educational institution

The main "educational unit" in the former Penza Artillery School is considered not faculties, but departments. It is on them that students are distributed. In the departments there are not only teachers and books, because the institution is military: each department has its own weapons. According to the head of the PAII himself (we will return to him a little later), this branch of the St. Petersburg university has almost three and a half thousandweapons of various kinds.

There are only sixteen departments in the former Penza Artillery School, they are located in nineteen educational buildings of the institution. If we continue talking about PAII in numbers, it should be noted that the above-mentioned buildings contain 163 specialized classrooms, 25 lecture halls, 29 computer rooms plus an Internet room, 26 laboratories, 8 study rooms for design, a large reading room.

Management and specialists

Among the teachers of the Penza branch of the St. Petersburg university, of course, there are both military specialists - because the educational institution is specialized - and ordinary teachers and scientists. Among the latter - more than one hundred and forty people, which is three-quarters of the total number of teaching staff. There are "ordinary" teachers among them, there are associate professors and even candidates of sciences. As for military educators, there are also participants in various armed actions among them - they pass on their experience to the cadets. However, the head of the Penza Artillery School is of greater interest now - who is capable of leading such a "brainchild", which invariably receives awards from higher authorities for the work done?

This person is Major General Alexander Tsaplyuk. He was born in 1965 - he is only a little over fifty. He graduated first from the Khmelnytsky Artillery School, then from the corresponding academy in Mariupol. On the way to the rank of major general and the position of head of the school, he went through many other statuses and posts - he wasdivision commander, head of a training center, deputy head of missile forces and artillery - and that's not all. Alexander Tsaplyuk has many awards, and he is not only a professional and a good leader, but also an exemplary family man - he has a wife and daughter.

PAII Faculties

There are four faculties in the structure of the former Penza Artillery School: rocket and artillery weapons - one, ammunition - two, radio equipment - three and a special faculty - four. It is at the latter that future military specialists from foreign countries are trained. In order to make it easier for cadets who arrived from abroad, the first year they are actively taught at the Department of the Russian Language - there is also one at PAII, organized specifically for this faculty. Students master both the subtleties of the language itself and the basic terminology, after which they can already proceed directly to the chosen course. This faculty has been operating since 1959, and a year earlier, a direction for rocket and artillery weapons was opened - since at that moment the rocket units needed new personnel. Perhaps this will seem strange to someone, but the main attention in all speci alties of this faculty is paid not to anything, but to drill; it is these cadets who take the most active part in all kinds of combat events, including the Victory Parade.

As for the faculty of ammunition, then, as you can guess from its name alone, cadets receive information there on how to properly handleammunition, as well as with various devices and weapons of artillery, gunpowder, explosives and so on.

A little about the departments

As mentioned earlier, the Penza branch of the Leningrad Military Academy has sixteen departments, and it is impossible to talk about each of them within the framework of one material. We confine ourselves to mentioning a few of the most, in our opinion, interesting.

This is the department of tactics, the main task of which is to convey to the cadets all the basics of not only tactical combat, but also the principles of work of all artillery service bodies. It is here that the details of various exercises and field trips are developed, they provide knowledge about the basics of combat support and types of protection both in wartime and in peacetime.

Another important department of the former Penza Artillery School is the department of general scientific disciplines, where they teach basic subjects for an engineer - after all, as we remember, PAII graduates become engineers. These are higher mathematics, descriptive geometry, engineering graphics, physics, theoretical mechanics and other equally important disciplines.

Let's also say a word about a relatively new department (unlike many others that appeared with the birth of the school, it was formed only in 2000) - department management. Its main meaning is to train cadets to lead artillery units in peacetime.

How to act

How to enter the Penza Artillery School? There's nothing in itcomplex. Several rules need to be followed:

  1. When entering full training: age sixteen to twenty-two (no military service); age up to twenty-four (with military service); availability of secondary general education.
  2. When entering secondary school: age up to thirty; availability of secondary general education.
  3. Preliminarily, everyone needs to pass a professional selection.

If the selection is passed, you must submit the necessary documents to the selection committee before April of this year. You can find out exactly what is required on the website of the educational institution.

Penza Artillery School: address

There are situations when you need to contact the educational institution by mail. In such cases (and also, of course, in order to know where to go), the address of the institution is needed. And first of all, it is important to remember the Penza index: there are often cases when addressers are faced with the fact that they do not know the index. It is simple for PAII: 440005. And besides the Penza index, by and large, you don’t need to know anything else, because the whole address looks like this: 440005, Penza-5, Military Town, Penza Artillery Engineering Institute.
