The Omsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is one of the largest centers in Siberia for training personnel for law enforcement agencies. Here, cadets are trained in law enforcement, forensic science, jurisprudence and other disciplines, and retrain officers.
Historical background
The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in Omsk originates from the courses of the police officers, opened on 1920-05-03. A few years later, on their basis, the 2nd Omsk school for the middle commanders of the police department of the RSFSR was created.
In 1940, the institution was renamed the interregional police school. And in November 1949 - in the Omsk school of the commanding staff of the MGB militia. A special date for the OA was June 2, 1965, when the Council of Ministers of the USSR reorganized the specialized institution into the Omsk Higher Police School. The university received the status of an academy on February 4, 2000.
Education
Today, the Omsk Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation implements profile programs for part-time and part-time education. Majors:

Average scores of additional exams in 2016 for full-timeeducation amounted to 69, 61 (in 2015 - 67, 12, among the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - 67, 64). Correspondence education failed to achieve the planned increase in this indicator. In 2016, the average score was 59.32 (in 2015 - 56.57).
Scientific research
The employees of the Academy are active participants in scientific forums. Conferences and seminars are held annually. Over the past 3 years, more than 180 scientific events have been held, 22 of which are international.
Omsk Academy develops student science. There are 16 scientific circles, 3 problem groups, a sociological laboratory, a professional club. They employ about 300 cadets.
Raising Patriots
The Omsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia pays special attention to moral education. Solemn events, forums, concerts dedicated to state and professional holidays have become traditional. Taking the oath is one of the outstanding events for cadets, future defenders of law and order. In 2007, a monument to the hero Asker Askerov, who died in the line of duty, was unveiled.
The Academy parades over secondary schools, orphanages, the Museum of Military Glory of Omsk citizens, a memorial to those killed in Afghanistan. Cadets can realize their creative abilities in a brass band, vocal and instrumental ensemble, Harmony public club, KVN.
A law enforcement officer must have an enviable physical fitness, so the OA develops sports sections. More than 30 masters of sports of various qualifications teach at the academy. Every year the university holdsdozens of competitions.

The Omsk Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has a modern material and scientific base. The territory of the educational complex is over 42,000 m22. 111 classrooms and classrooms, 12 lecture halls, 28 methodological rooms, 9 computer classes, a video studio, a digital photo lab, 9 forensic training grounds, 3 shooting ranges, 8 gyms, a stadium, 4 obstacle courses, 2 libraries are used to organize studies.

Theoretical training is complemented by practical training in the skills needed for a trained police officer. The out-of-town specialized training center of the academy hosts complex exercises, trainings, business and role-playing games. The Omsk Academy has repeatedly excelled in interuniversity operational-tactical exercises.
Experienced operational practitioners are systematically involved in the classes. On the basis of the component bodies, introductory, profile and pre-diploma practices are held. The university holds the All-Russian competition of professional skills "The Best in Profession" among employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
