In life we have to deal with a variety of people, communication with which can please, and can be frankly annoying. There can be any number of reasons for this, but sometimes a person just turns out to be an ordinary smartass. But who are they?
Meaning of the word
If we say that, for example, a girl is conceited, it simply means arrogance, excessive importance, a manifestation of arrogance towards people around. We can hardly say the same about a person who is pleasant to us. From this it is clear that the meaning of the word "arrogant" has exclusively negative connotations.
In official business correspondence or a scientific article, using this word would be rather inappropriate. Nevertheless, in journalism, informal correspondence or fiction, it is often found, because it has a high level of expression. In the stylistic register, the word "arrogant" is a colloquial level.
There are many synonyms for this word. "Puffed up" is about the same thing as ascended, puffed up, turned up her nose, swaggered, boasted beyond measure.
Morphological properties
This lexeme is a verb in terms of speech affiliation. "conceited" is a word, fromwhich it is possible to form a participle, but only a valid one (“conceited”, for example). It is impossible to form a passive participle based on this lexeme: this is not allowed, first of all, by its semantics.
The morphemic structure of the word in the initial form is as follows: there is a prefix (for-), a root (-zna-), a verb ending (-т), a postfix (-с), and also a grammatical stem (-zazna_sya-). It can be used both in the perfect (“concealed”), and in the imperfect form (“confessed”).
There are nine letters in the word, eight of which are pronounceable, one is unpronounceable (“ь”). The root vowel is stressed. Of the five consonants, four are hard, one (c’) is soft.
