The Russian Academy of Justice (RAJ) is an educational institution founded by Presidential Decree No. 528 in 1998. The function of the founder is performed by the Supreme and Supreme Arbitration Courts of the Russian Federation.
Goals and objectives
Earlier, universities did not provide specialized training for employees of the judiciary. The formation of a civil society requires an expansion of the role of judicial protection in terms of the rights and freedoms of people, an effective fight against manifestations of extremism, terrorism and crime. Only professionals are able to effectively manage the judicial system. To train personnel with specialized legal education, a specialized educational scientific institution was created. There are no analogues of the RAP of justice. The concept of the academy is that the future judge should start improving professional skills as early as possible, be able to competently apply knowledge, cultivate the necessary personal qualities.

Education level
RAP - academyjustice - has already won the status of the most prestigious educational institution, standing on a par with Moscow State University, Moscow State Law Academy and other institutions. Anticipating the importance of specialized education, the founders sent a powerful teaching staff to the academy. Most of the employees have practical experience in state authorities, courts, are leading economists, scientists, lawyers.
Educational process
The academy has 7 faculties and 23 departments. Main areas of study: economics, finance, law, management, retraining of judges, advanced training, military department, physical culture, philosophy and social and humanitarian, general education disciplines, foreign languages, computer science and mathematics.
The academy has over 17,000 students. Training is carried out on a budgetary and contractual basis. The RAP of Justice invites applicants to modern educational programs, including the preparation of bachelors in the areas of jurisprudence and management. They also train masters of law in popular areas: for litigation in resolving economic disputes, corporate lawyers, lawyers in fiscal law and taxation.
Additional features

Full-time students are granted a deferment from military service. Aftertraining at the military department, one is transferred to the reserve with the assignment of the officer rank of "lieutenant of justice".
College students have two types of scholarships - academic and social. They are paid only to students studying on a budgetary basis. The academic scholarship is awarded based on the results of the winter and summer sessions. This scholarship is given to students who completed the semester with "good" and "excellent".
International cooperation
RAP of Justice actively and productively cooperates with Russian and foreign universities. Students can master an additional international program: distance learning at the Moscow branch with a bachelor's or master's degree in law from the University of London. It trains specialists of international legal specialization who are able to conduct office work in two foreign languages. The RAP team is a multiple winner of international law competitions. Practice
Special attention is paid to the acquisition of practical skills by students. Students practice in courts, advocacy, justice authorities, notaries, prosecutors under the supervision of teachers-practice leaders.
There is an opportunity to work in the legal clinic of the Academy, where students, under the guidance of curators, provide free legal advice to vulnerable categories of citizens.
Community activities
A student theater, KVN, vocal and dance studios are actively operating in the academy. The annual creative contest "Constellation" is held among Russian branches, the newspaper "Themis" of Justice is published.
Employment
After graduating from the RAP, there is an opportunity to continue postgraduate studies in 11 scientific speci alties with the award of a scientific degree. Today, thousands of graduates are successfully working in the judiciary, authorities, and large companies. More than 80 graduates work in the Supreme and Supreme Arbitration Courts of the Russian Federation.
A specialized employment service has been created to help graduates find jobs, so 90% of young professionals work in their speci alty. Directly in the judicial system - 27%. Alumni mutual aid club operates.
RAP Justice reviews
According to reviews, the level of education at the academy is very high. Much attention is paid to educational and fact-finding (professional lectures), production (in state institutions), pre-diploma practice. Many students are impressed by the opportunity to study remotely at King's College London, so special attention is paid to in-depth study of languages. In contrast to the rich curriculum, many entertainment events, creative competitions, a visit to a nightclub at the expense of the academy once a month are organized. Tuition can be paid one time for the whole year (the cost in the contract is fixed for the entire period of study) or 2 times (according tosemesters).
