The states of Latin America include some countries and territories of North and South America, where they speak languages descended from Latin. These include mainly states with a Spanish-speaking population, less with a French-speaking one. The history of the countries of Latin America is interconnected, but all of them, of course, are different in their own way. Below you can find a brief description of each country.
Natural conditions
Some features of Latin American countries are due to their mainland position. For example, the largest river in the world, the Amazon, flows through the territory of these states, and the highest waterfall, Angel Falls, is also located here.
In addition, the Andes mountain range passes through the states, also the longest in the world. Although the development of Latin American countries is relatively slow, these lands are rich in natural resources such as gases, rare metals and oil. The economic indicators of these territories still remain very mediocre.

- Nicaragua - located in Central America, washed by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

- Paraguay - located in the central region of South America, famous among tourists.
- Peru is also a popular tourist destination, famous for its Inca culture.
- El Salvador - located in Central America, has access to the Pacific Ocean.

- Chile - bordering Argentina, the southernmost country in the world.
- Ecuador is extremely popular among lovers of the Amazon, although it does not differ in prestige, but it is famous for its primitiveness and color.
Subordinate territories and countries of Latin America
The list above gives a brief description of the states. It is worth noting that some territories can also be attributed to Latin America, although they are not states. For example, Puerto Rico, a Caribbean island that is partly administered by the United States.
This also includes several territories that are French colonies and, therefore, are controlled by France. Among them are Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Martin, and French Guiana. About all these territories, we can say that these are the countries of Latin America (the list is complete), but they are not officially considered separate states. Although it is not so important.
A look into the future
What problems do Latin American countries suffer from? The list can be very long. The most important feature of thesestates is the underdevelopment of the economy and the lack of attempts to somehow change this situation. In the 21st century, a large part of the population of these countries remains illiterate, to say nothing of higher education. Most residents of these third world countries try to go to more developed neighboring states for prospects when possible.
Development
Although there has been a noticeable economic growth over the past century, but the government of most countries still does not pay enough attention to the development of industry, although the potential of some countries is unlimited. First of all, tourism. Improving conditions for tourists can attract huge flows of investment to the country. In addition, these countries should pay attention to the extraction of minerals, which can significantly raise the standard of living in these countries. However, this will probably not happen soon.
