Who is Akmulla
Miftahetdin Kamaletdinov, or Miftahetdin Akmulla, is much better known to a simple man in the street under his pseudonym - Akmulla. Known for being the most popular and widely read Bashkir poet, it was he who made a huge contribution to the development of not only poetry, but also the literature of the Bashkir, Tatar and Kazakh peoples in general. It is no coincidence that Akmulla, who lived and worked in the nineteenth century, is called not only a poet, but also a thinker and educator.
He was educated in his native village; studied versification with a local poet, who was quite famous at that time. Changedseveral professions, in addition to writing poetry, he traveled because he could not live long in one place. With him he carried a cart filled to the brim with books, manuscripts and various tools. He was imprisoned for four years, and his life ended tragically - the Bashkir poet was killed while moving from one settlement to another. Today, in memory of him, there is a literary prize named after him and his museum; a street in Almetyevsk and the Pedagogical University of Bashkortostan bear his name.
History of the establishment of the institution
Roots of BSPU im. Akmullahs go deep into the past, to the very beginning of the twentieth century, more precisely, to 1909. It was then that the first Teacher's Institute in the whole republic appeared in Ufa. This name lasted for exactly ten years, and in 1919, when changes thundered everywhere, they did not bypass this university either - it received a new name: the Institute of Public Education. Then it had four faculties - socio-historical, physical and mathematical, biological and geographical and literary and linguistic. School teachers were trained in all the above areas, and since the institution was of an "advanced type", it also produced teaching staff for technical schools.
Four years later, new upheavals occurred: the word "practical" was added to the name of the university, and agricultural workers were added to the graduates. But these were far from the last transformations that affected the institute. Late twentiesyears, it became pedagogical, and remained so for almost a full thirty years. But 1957 brought new trends: the Pedagogical Institute of Bashkortostan was turned into just a state university.
However, the latter was a mistake - there was no training in many speci alties, and there was an acute shortage of teaching staff. The mistake was recognized in time, and a decade later the State Pedagogical Institute reappeared. Finally, at the turn of the millennium, it became a university, and in 2006, having received the name of Akmulla, it acquired its current name - BSPU named after. M. Akmulla.
Today
Today BSPU im. Akmulla, in addition to being the largest scientific and educational center of the whole of Bashkortostan, is one of the twenty best pedagogical universities in the country. More than forty thousand teachers left its hospitable walls during the entire existence of the university. Having initially only four faculties, now it has grown significantly - today it is part of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University.
