In the central part of Africa is the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), a former French colony. Its capital is Kinshasa. The province is located along the southern coast of the Congo River. This is the only full-flowing river that crosses the equator twice. It is the second longest in Africa after the Nile. The Ebola channel flows into the main Congo.
Geographic location
Where is the Ebola River? It flows in the northern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The right tributary of the Ebola is the River Two. The name "Ebola" was given to the river by the French colonists who seized the lands of Africa in the past centuries. From French into the local dialect, the name of the reservoir is translated as "white water".
In the middle reaches of the Ebola, three kilometers from its left bank, there is the settlement of Abumombazi. The inhabitants of the tribe living there believe in legends and revere local gods. Wildlife
The Ebola River (the photo of which is presented in the article) has a length of 200 km and originates from the village of Nzombo. Tropical trees and green shrubs grow along the banks of the reservoir, feeding on its moisture. The current is moderate, the water is fresh. Huge predatory tiger goliath fish live in the waters of the White River. These are predators. They hunt fish, various animals that live in the water, and even crocodiles. Other fish live in the river:

There are no settlements directly on the river bank, they are located far from the reservoir. This is due to the fact that in Africa the hot weather lasts for almost a whole year, so dangerous viruses and bacteria breed in warm water. Unfortunately, it is impossible to protect animals from them, which can then come into contact with people. A tsetse fly lives near the water, whose bite is life-threatening.
Mineral resources

Also, the population is engaged in animal husbandry: cows, goats and chickens are bred. Without the river, people would not be able to survive in such conditions. Ebola is an important component not only of the life of local tribes, but of the entire ecosystem as a whole.
Legend of the Ebola River
Due to the hot climate, it often rains in the Republic of the Congo (Zaire). The Ebola River overflows and overflows its banks. Dense impenetrable thickets grow along it. People cannot pass through them, wild animals live there, which can hide in dense forests and live away from humans.
Due to the fact that some wild animals are huge, a legend about a terrible monster appeared. Diamond mining
The Ebola River in Africa is located in such a way that oil and gas fields are nearby. Diamonds are often found in the reservoir itself. Abumombazi villagersengaged in mineral mining. To do this, they use conventional tools: washing trays and a shovel. They dig the soil, put it in a bowl for washing, with the help of water from the river they manage to sort out the shiny stones. Locals earn little money from their mining. Therefore, recently they began to rebel, refuse to work. People are demanding better working conditions and higher wages. But no reforms were made, because it is beneficial to have a cheap labor force that gives away precious stones for nothing.
Some residents say that the Ebola virus was created in order to scare the locals and quell the uprising. They noticed that the virus is not transmitted through the air, only those who have been vaccinated by the Red Cross get sick with it. Today, the people of the Republic of the Congo are kicking out the American Red Cross from their territory and refusing to be vaccinated supposedly against a deadly disease.
They believe that the Americans are trying to seize the Ebola River at any cost, if only they get its diamonds.
River Ecology
Dumping of waste and sewage is one of the causes of river pollution in the Republic of the Congo. Despite the fact that the country produces diamonds, oil and other minerals, it is still poor and cannot afford purification facilities.
