Usual colloquial language can be unacceptable, it's just that people don't often think about it. As a result, adults can only wonder where children learn "bad words" and why they turn out to be so attractive. What is profanity, why is it spreading so fast, and how can we fight it?

This point of view was brilliantly formulated by H. G. Wells in the story "The Code of Curses". It describes a person who is engaged in the collection and systematization of all kinds of abuse. An enthusiast of his work, Professor Gneelstock, at the risk of his own he alth and life, even hired a servant in Calcutta and drove him out without paying a salary. And all this solely for the sake of recording the swearing that an angry Bengali man poured over his vile employer for hours on end.
Wells called swearing "emotional vomit", that is, a means that helps to expel poison and survive. Emotional expressive curses are just air shaking. A person who swore from the heart is less likely to hit the interlocutor, and one who is forced to endure and restrain himself may well kill.
