What does CBP mean? This is an acronym that stands for original female character. This term is most often found among writers of fanfiction - short and not so short stories, often based on TV shows, films, books, computer games, and often describing fictional stories with celebrities. What is an OGP? The presence in the fanfiction of the OZHP indicates that in addition to the original characters of some series, a hero invented by the author specifically for this plot will also participate in the story. At the same time, the original female character is likely to be one of the main ones, the whole story will depend on her.
Why do I need a CBP?
Now that it has become clear what a CBP is, it would be quite logical to ask why then invent your own original character, if, for example, there are already enough roles in the series. The answer is simple. Let's say an author writes a fanfiction based on his favorite series. But none of the characters in the series is suitable for the plot conceived by the author. And in order not to change the canonical characters, the authors resort to creating their owncharacter. They endow the OZHP with all the necessary qualities, attribute a certain appearance to the new heroine. Or, if the fanfic is about relationships and romance, and the author is tired of the standard couples, he can create a female heroine to his liking, "bring" her with anyone from the series.
In fact, this technique is not new and is used not only in fan fiction. Many classical writers, and modern ones too, used images of real people in their works, weaving them into the outline of the plot. For example, many historians and literary critics argue about who was the prototype of Onegin himself, and who was the original character of this novel in verse.
Don't confuse OCD with Mary Sue
OZHP means an original character, adequate, with its own positive and negative features. The authors try to clarify the actions of the OCD, tell what events in life led him to what he is at the moment. However, if absolutely all qualities are positive in the character, and the female representative is the most beautiful, smart, rich and copes with any difficulties without any problems, then you already have a Mary Sue.
