A hostel is a place where student life is concentrated. This is where education and recreation take place. Students note that it is the life in the hostel that they remember, leaving warm memories of the years spent in a higher educational institution. List of hostels
Tomsk State University has 6 residential buildings. The oldest of them are hostels No. 5, 6, 7 and 8. They were put into operation in the 60s of the last century. Periodically, repairs are carried out, so students do not face the inconvenience caused by the long existence of buildings. The rest of the premises that TSU has were put into operation later (for example, hostel No. 3 - in 1985). Dormitory number 9 ("Sail") is the youngest. The first settlement of students in it was made not so long ago - in 2014.

Accommodation of TSU applicants in dormitories
Every year Tomsk State University comes toa huge number of applicants from other cities of Russia. Nonresident citizens are faced with such a problem as finding a place to live for the period of entrance exams. It can be solved at TSU.
Every year, for the period of the admission campaign, applicants are provided with hostel No. 5 and building No. 6 at TSU. Places are received absolutely free of charge. In order to become a temporary resident of the hostel, you must provide the original certificate.
Students check in
The distribution of places between students begins after the release of the enrollment order. This process does not last long, so it is not recommended to hesitate. To move in, you need to prepare a package of documents, including:
- certificate indicating that a particular person is a 1st year student;
- certificate of passing a fluorographic study;
- a medical certificate obtained at Tomsk Polyclinic No. 1 or at an interuniversity hospital;
- identity document;
- 3 photo cards;
- migration card (for international students);
- statement.
All of the listed papers are submitted to the commandant at the TSU dormitory. He issues a contract that must be signed. After that, settlement begins. Lists with the names of students and room numbers are posted on the information stands. Students can then receive keys and bedding sets from the hostel commandant.
Paying accommodation
For accommodation in a hostel, utilities and household services, all students pay a small amount of money. Its size is established by the relevant order of the rector. At the same time, it should be noted that the amount of money is determined taking into account the law - it cannot exceed 5% of the amount of the scholarship paid.
TSU hostel (Tomsk) is inexpensive. An example is 2015:
- students of dormitories No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 monthly paid 18.45 rubles for the premises, 92.12 rubles for utilities. (total amount - 110.57 rubles);
- students of dormitory No. 3 paid a little more for a room - 27.68 rubles, for utilities a little less compared to students living in other buildings - 82.89 rubles. (the total amount is the same - 110.57 rubles);
- foreign citizens living in a new hostel paid 36.90 rubles for the premises, and 459.38 rubles for utilities
Rights of residents
Residents have certain rights, which are covered in the Regulations on the student hostel of TSU. So students can:
- to live in the rooms allocated to them during all the years of study (subject to timely payment, compliance with the terms of the contract of employment);
- use available equipment, inventory;
- stay in classrooms and lounges;
- participate in the student council, be elected to it and resolve issues related to improving living conditions.
Another right is the possibility of resettlement inanother room. If there is such a desire, then it is necessary to inform the university administration about it, to name the reasons. Upon receipt of the consent of the staff of a higher educational institution, the student moves to another room.
Obligations of Residents
Besides rights, students have many responsibilities after settling into TSU dormitories. Feedback indicates that students should:
- observe all the rules in force in the hostel;
- observe safety, public and fire safety;
- take care of the premises, existing appliances, items, inventory;
- carry out daily cleaning of living quarters;
- timely pay for accommodation and all services;
- compensate for material damage (this obligation applies to those students who, for any reason, spoiled property that does not belong to them).
Eviction from the hostel
Students are evicted from the hostel in the following cases:
- when the contract of employment is terminated;
- when submitting a personal application;
- when expelled from an educational institution due to graduation or due to other reasons.
When evicted, students receive a bypass sheet at the university. It contains the signatures of the services of the educational institution. This bypass sheet must be handed over to the head of the student dormitory.

TSU students speak positively abouthostels belonging to Tomsk State University. Students note that the buildings are well equipped. Each TSU hostel has:
- kitchens equipped with electric stoves;

The entry of unauthorized persons into the building is excluded. Only those people who have a pass can enter the TSU hostel.
