One can only be surprised and ashamed of how many names of the creators of everyday objects for us have remained in the shadow of history. It is especially pleasant that each of these great people had Ukrainian roots.
The work was not always done in Ukraine, which many had to leave. However, you should always remember that you can change your place of residence, but the memories of the Motherland cannot be removed from the heart.
Igor Sikorsky
Famous Ukrainian scientists have made a huge contribution to the development of world science. Our story opens with Igor Sikorsky. This surname is known without exaggeration on all continents, in every forgotten corner of the world.
The inventor was born in 1889 in Kyiv. The ideological inspiration for young Igor was Leonardo Da Vinci. Already in early childhood, the designer set himself a specific goal - to create a helicopter.
By the age of twenty, he had designed dozens of aircraft, most of which crashed during testing. The best samples received awards at various tournaments, and this fact could not but inspire further research, which was decades ahead of its time. So, Sikorsky invented the largest on thatthe moment of the biplane, which had as many as four motors. Subsequently, the aircraft was used as a bomber.
In 1918, Igor Ivanovich moved to France, and then to the USA. Without a penny in your pocket, friends and support.
Thanks to hard work and an amazing ability to not lose heart and be philosophical about failure, the predecessors of modern airliners took to the skies. A little later, trucks appeared that completely changed the idea of logistics.
Already in 1939, the designer realized the dream of his life - he built a helicopter. At the moment, these machines serve civilians, the military and even the President of the United States.
A wonderful story of a strong man, which clearly shows that a dream can be achieved if you really want it.
Iosif Timchenko
The contribution of Ukrainian scientists to the development of world science is truly enormous. Iosif Timchenko, a representative of the direction of mechanics, presented humanity with a mercury barometer, an electronic clock, and a device for checking pressure gauges. The designer was born in Kharkov, after which he moved to Odessa, where he lived his interesting life.
In the memory of grateful descendants, Joseph Andreevich will forever remain the personification of the fact that it was Ukrainian scientists who created the prototype of the kinescope. Unfortunately, the device has not been patented. And another person went down in history as its creator.
By the way, the jump mechanism found by Iosif Andreevich became the basis for the stroboscope as well.
Sergey Korolev
List of "famous Ukrainianscientists" would be incomplete without a man who gave people nothing but space.
The story of Sergei Korolev is in many ways unfair and dishonest. Studying his works, one can only wonder how strong his faith in science, humanity, and simply the will to live was.
Like Igor Sikorsky, the boy was interested in everything that flies. No wonder he chose to dedicate his life to air travel.
Sergei Pavlovich designed planes and flew them himself. Even aerobatics were routine for him.
The most important development that was introduced by the young scientist was the ballistic missile, which brought the country's defense to a completely different level.
But not only the military were happy. The creation of the rocket made it possible to reach completely different horizons even beyond the Earth!
On October 4, 1957, the world was shocked by the launch of the first artificial satellite into orbit around our planet. Needless to say, it was Sergei Korolev who led the development process.
The next stage of development was the active conquest of space, the culmination of which was the sending of a man into space on April 12, 1961.
The scientist died on January 14, 1966, before he could fulfill his dreams of exploring the moon. The orbital station was also not built.
But what has been successfully achieved amazes even contemporaries. That is why Sergei Korolyov takes pride of place in the list of "famous Ukrainian scientists".
Fyodor Pirotsky
It is difficult to overestimate the contributionwhich Ukrainian scientists have contributed to the development of world science. The name of this person is not as well known as the previous ones.
But he made a revolution in transportation. Pirotsky invented the tram.
Meeting with electrical engineer Pavel Yablochkov had a huge impact on the future inventor. The result of many years of research has become a vehicle that moves on electric traction.
Despite the protests of the owners of horse-drawn trams, trailers have won a worthy place in the life of mankind, and we use them to this day.
Nikolai Pirogov
Hearing the phrase “Ukrainian scientists”, one of the first to remember is a great doctor, whose name has forever entered the history of mankind.
The founder of military field surgery and an active supporter of anesthesia - only a small part of his interests. In addition, the scientist was fond of anatomy, and was also a wonderful teacher.
Thousands of people who suffered in military conflicts are forever grateful to Nikolai Ivanovich for the opportunity to forget about the wounds. Doctor-invented plaster casts have preserved hundreds of limbs and are still in use today.
Sorting the wounded is also Pirogov's idea. With an equal number of staff, the effectiveness of primary care has increased many times over.
Almost one hundred and fifty years have passed since the death of an outstanding master, but his name will forever remain in the most sincere and positive memoriesgrateful descendants.
Other Ukrainian scientists who have made an invaluable contribution to the development of world science
Ivan Pulyuy - is considered one of the creators of the apparatus, which today is commonly called "X-ray".
Vladimir Khavkin - creator of the plague and cholera vaccine.
Yuri Voronoi - performed a kidney transplant.
Vyacheslav Petrov - created the CD.
And, of course, Leonard Kleinrock, who was involved in the creation of our beloved Internet.
Conclusion
Unfortunately, the limitation on the size of the article does not allow covering the entire list, which includes famous Ukrainian scientists - after all, there are truly an unlimited number of brilliant people! I would like to hope that each outstanding name will not remain undeservedly forgotten and will forever remain in the memory of grateful descendants.
