The times of chivalrous courage, courage and nobility are long gone. But it is in our power to revive the spirit of the heroic Middle Ages in very young boys today. It is for this that it is necessary to organize a jousting tournament in the history school. Based on the past, to clearly show the guys how honor, intelligence, courage, physical endurance and the desire to help other people change lives for the better.
Joust tournament at school for February 23 (grades 1-4): preparation
One week before the Impromptu Tournament, start preparing students for the event:
Tell the children who the knights are. What did they do and how could they become. Introduce children to the most famous knights in history and literature
- Take a Knight Armor Workshop(cloak, sword) and clothes for young ladies (fan, cape).
- Distribute words from the welcome speech to the participants of the tournament (each boy should say his part of the text).
- Have the girls make gift cards for the young knights at home. Be sure to show them a sample when doing so so that all prizes are the same.
- Divide the boys into two teams, give each team its own name, coat of arms and motto.
- Prepare the props (colorful ribbons to be awarded to the winners of each competition, fitball, gymnastic hoops, rope, imitation stones, etc.)

Team 1 can be called "Strong Hand". The first motto of the jousting tournament at the school is pronounced in unison:

Joust Tournament at School: Scenario
It should be noted right away that the course of the tournament for students in grades 1–2 and 3–4 must necessarily differ. Indeed, due to their physiological and mental capabilities, younger children may not be able to cope with any task, and older children may find it too easy. In both cases, the result will be the same: the children will not like the tournament, and the pedagogical task will not be completed.
However, the general plan for holding such an event for different age groups is the same. The tournament requires a host, 10-20 boys to form two teams, props and prizes.
The prize can be postcards that girls make at home, they should be given to all participants. Also, all young knights can be presented with commemorative badges. The team that wins the tournament can be awarded a sweet prize and small symbolic souvenirs.
Plan
A step-by-step plan for jousting at school might look like this:
- Spectators are invited to the competition room.
- Dressed-up girls follow them and take separate seats.
- After that indoorsknight boys appear, each team bears its coat of arms.
- Boys take places to the left and right of the girls.
- The presenter comes out and announces the knightly tournament open.
- Boys give a welcoming speech.
- Competitions are starting. The winning team for each competition receives a ribbon that is attached to the knight's coat of arms.

Competitions for first graders
For absolutely any age group, you can hold a jousting tournament at school. 1st class can take part in the following competitions:
A frisky stallion. Before the start of the competition, the presenter sets up obstacles, for example, 5-liter water bottles decorated to look like stones. The task of the knights is to snake on a fitball among the stones in one direction, and return back to the start of the start in a straight line. Those knights who were able to overcome all obstacles in less time win
The sword is my friend. For this competition, you will need several balloons filled with air and two swords, orobjects that imitate them. The host sets two chairs at a certain distance from the teams, the boys line up one after another. The task of the tournament participants is to run to the chair as quickly as possible, run around it and return. At the same time, each young knight must throw a balloon into the air with a sword, thus overcoming the entire distance. The team that completes the task faster wins
Memory check. The host asks the guys if they know who the knights are. After receiving a positive response, she invites the teams to answer a few questions. Those participants in the jousting tournament at the school who will give the correct answer faster than others will win
Saving beautiful ladies. The host takes the children in different directions and gives each team member 2 gymnastic rings. The task of the knights is to lay out the road from the hoops to the beautiful ladies who are in "imprisonment". How does this happen? The child puts the hula hoop on the floor and steps in the center of it. After that, he puts the next hoop in front of him in such a way that he can step into it. At the same time, the first gymnastic ring rises and shifts further. Thus, the young knight gets to the nearest lady, touches her hand, and with two hoops runs back to the team. The knights who get to the girls faster than their rivals win
Victory dance. After the release of the beautiful ladies, a holiday comes, and the presenterinvites the knights to choose a mate for the dance. Be sure to make sure that there is one girl for every boy. If there are not enough ladies or gentlemen, then the child can invite relatives of the opposite sex present in the hall to dance

Joust tournament at school (Grade 4) involves more difficult tasks. For example, the host seats both teams at two tables facing each other. Each team puts a piece of paper on the table with the word “kindness” written on it.
The task of the knights is to compose other short words from the original word in 1.5 minutes. After the end of the allotted time, one representative from each team reads out the resulting words in turn. Those knights winwho were able to form more words.

Checking gallantry, memory, mathematical abilities. Both teams continue to sit at the tables, while the host asks the participants a series of questions. The knights with the most correct answers will win
Releasing a lady from captivity. The host takes the knights to different ends of the room and gives each team 2 chairs. Tournament participants with their help should get to the girls as quickly as possible. How it's done? The child stands on a chair and moves the second chair so that it is convenient for him to step on it. Then he takes the first one and moves it again. After the knight touches the hand of any lady, he returns to the team on foot with the chairs and passes the baton to the next participant. The knights who get to the girls the fastest win
Falling into the abyss. It is very difficult to imagine a jousting tournament at school that takes place without a tug of war. It is for this reason that the host puts an object on the floor and invites both teams to the “barrier”. Children take the rope from both sides and, at the signal of the leader, try to drag all the rival knights over the mark. Those boys who stood up for a lying object are considered to have fallen into the abyss and are eliminated. The winners are those knights who managed to throw all rivals off the cliff
Final dance. The presenter announces the last competition for the best dance. The boys invite the girls, and the presenter, summing up the behavior of the knights, determines the winners of the competition. Absolutely everything is taken into account: how gallantly the knight was able to invite his lady to the dance, how he saw her back, whether he thanked her, etc
