The medal "For military valor" was established in honor of the centenary of the leader of the world proletariat. She was awarded:
- leading employees, employees of state departments, collective farmers, scientists and cultural figures who distinguished themselves in preparation for the festival;
- people fighting for the formation of the Soviets, for the defense of the Motherland, the builders of socialism;
- soldiers of the Red Army, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union.
Medal shape
Medal "For military valor" has a round shape with a diameter of 3 cm. The main side contains an engraved bust of the leader and the years of his life "1870-1970". The reverse contains an engraving "For military valor" and a drawing of a five-pointed star and a hammer and sickle. The medal "For military valor" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is equipped with a solid branded lug. True, it is not on all copies. A bar almost 3 cm wide and 2.5 cm high is attached to the order. Inside, this base is wrapped with a red silk ribbon with yellow lines: two in the middle, one at the edges, and a device for fastening with clothes at the back. The artists who made the engravings are N. I. Sokolov and A. V. Kozlov.
There are three typesAwards:
- The first contains the phrase "For Valiant Labor". More than 11,000,000 such awards have been issued.
- The second option has the words "For military prowess". These copies were made 2000000.
- The third option contains no entries. This type of medal was awarded to foreign persons - members of foreign delegations. As mentioned above, about five thousand of these awards were presented.
The medal was introduced by a resolution of the Central Committee of the CPSU on November 5, 1969. In total, about eleven million people were awarded, including: 9,000,000 working citizens, 2,000,000 military, 5,000 foreigners.
Today
Today the medal "For Military Valor" is awarded to Russian servicemen:
- distinguished in military preparations;
- who distinguished themselves during the service, in the exercises;
- selfless and courageous while serving.
- ensuring public peace and relative safety.
Medal 1 and 2 degrees
The representative of the defense of the Russian Federation is presenting the awards. The medal is represented by two degrees. First, the medal "Military Valor" of the 2nd degree is awarded, then - 1. However, if there are other awards, the serviceman can immediately receive the primary award. The second time the medal "For military valor" is not received.
The first side has an image “heraldic sign - emblem”, around it is a laurel wreath with a ribbon. On the other hand, the signature Today, just like before, the medal comes withrectangular base with maroon fabric 2.4 cm wide. The award of the first degree differs from the 2nd degree in that in the middle of the ribbon the highest award has one white strip 2 mm wide, and the secondary medal has two stripes 1 mm wide, between them - 2 mm.
To make a medal, they used topmak (for 2nd degree), nickel silver (for 1st degree). It is worn on the left side under the heart. In terms of rating, it is located after state awards. At first, it was made from two components: the medal itself and the standard, fastened with rivets. The standard wore out quickly. Modern medals are presented in one piece, the color of the standard is covered with one enamel, and therefore productivity has increased. The medal is considered a departmental insignia of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Lump-sum payments
In 2010, the Order of the Minister of Defense No. 500 was issued, according to which, along with the medal, contract servicemen were en titled to a lump sum payment equal to 75% of the monthly salary. According to the third paragraph of this order, monetary compensation is paid on the basis of the order of the head, for example, of a military unit. This order is issued within three days after the issuance of a higher order from the Ministry of Russia. True, the order was valid until the end of 2014.
