Barnaul Pedagogical College is located in the capital of the Altai Territory, is a state budgetary educational institution of secondary vocational education. The institution has the title of an innovative platform in the system of basic professional education of the region.
History
In 1915, the first institution that trained future teachers was opened in Barnaul - the Barnaul Teachers' Seminary, classes in which began only in 1921.
In 1937, the institution was given the name of a pedagogical school, by this time 27 people were teaching in it in two areas - school and preschool. Soon, branches began to open in large settlements of the Altai Territory, but in wartime the building was given over to a hospital. From 1956 to 1962, the Pedagogical College moved to Rubtsovsk due to the policy of the Ministry of Education, which considered that the institutes could handle the training of teachers on their own.
However, in 1962, this decision was revised, and the Pedagogical School resumed its work in the city of Barnaul. From this moment, various improvements in the organization begin - the best teachers are invited, new programs are developed, the BPU museum is created.
In 1992, by order of the Russian Ministry of Education, the school was renamed the Barnaul Pedagogical College. In 2003, there is a division into 6 areas of study:
- Primary classes.
- Preschool education.
- Jurisprudence.
- Humanities education.
- Information technology.
- Music education.
Management and staff
In 2015, the Pedagogical College celebrates its 100th anniversary, during which time a large number of leaders have changed, and since 2011 it has been headed by Mikhail Borisovich Samoletov.
The teaching staff consists of highly qualified personnel:
- 5 teachers have the title of honored teacher;
- 59 people have departmental awards;
- 7 people have advanced degrees.
Teachers of the Barnaul Pedagogical College are permanent laureates of the contest "The Best Worker of State Pedagogical Educational Institutions in the Altai Territory".
Form of education
Educational services are provided on a full-time and part-time basis. Recruitment takes place both at the expense of allocated funds from the regional budget (free of charge), andcontracts for the provision of educational services on a paid basis.
The term of study depends on the chosen form of study and the student's education (incomplete secondary, secondary general).
In 2018, there were from 2 to 8 applicants for one place, the number of full-time students was 521, of which:
- 200 - for budget places;
- 321 - by agreement.
175 people were enrolled in part-time education in 2018 at the Altai Pedagogical College of Barnaul. The total enrollment was 696 and the total enrollment was 1,785.

Full-time education:
- Applied Informatics. Speci alty in the diploma: technician-programmer.
- Programming and information systems, qualification: programmer.
- Law enforcement. Qualification: lawyer.
- Preschool education. Qualification: preschool teacher.

- Special pre-school education. Education for persons with a diploma of incomplete secondary education - 46 months. The qualification of a teacher of children with developmental disabilities and with the safe development of preschool age is awarded.
- Correctional pedagogy in primary education. Education for persons with a diploma of incomplete secondary education - 46 months. The qualification of a teacher of primary classes of compensatory and correctional-developing education is awarded.
- Adaptive physical culture. Qualification: teacher of adaptive physical education.
- Music education. Training is carried out for graduates of the 9th grade - three years and ten months. Qualification: music teacher, music director.
- Fine art and drawing. Training is carried out for graduates of the 9th grade - 46 months. Qualification: teacher of drawing and fine arts.
Correspondence education at the Barnaul Pedagogical College is carried out in the following speci alties:
- Law enforcement. Qualification: lawyer.
- Preschool education. Qualification: preschool teacher.
- Education in elementary grades. Qualification: primary school teacher.
- Physical culture. Qualification: physical education teacher.
Distance learning is available only for persons with complete secondary education.
Infrastructure
Currently, the Pedagogical College of Barnaul has two educational buildings, a sports complex, a library, a reading room, computer classes, its own internal local area network, connected to the Internet. It also has its own assembly hall, concert hall, dining room, outdoor sports ground.
For out-of-town students, there is an opportunity to stay in any of the two hostels for 490 places, in which there are:
