Explosions can come in many forms and types: from pieces of a bursting balloon flying in different directions to a huge mushroom of death caused by a nuclear bomb. Therefore, if you want to draw an explosion, then you first need to decide what it will be, and then get to work.
Materials
Before you start drawing, prepare the necessary materials: paper, pencils of different hardness and an eraser. To color the drawing, you will need colored pencils, watercolors, pastels or felt-tip pens. For this pattern, gray, yellow, orange, red and black colors are used.
How to draw an explosion with a pencil?
First, let's try a cartoon explosion. To draw it, first make a light sketch with a simple pencil. First, draw a barely noticeable circle. We need it to indicate the location of the explosion. The epicenter of the explosion will be in the middle of the circle, so we make a spiral line from the middle to the edge of the circle. On this spiral we draw elements in the form of an arc that form a cloud of smoke. The farther these arcs are from the epicenter, the larger they should be. After that draw the pieces flying from the explosion in different directions.
Now add some detail to the pieces with a softer pencil. Next, draw a sketch of the cloud and add some more pieces from the explosion. Then draw shadows on the cloud of smoke.
How to portray a bomb explosion?
First, we determine where the epicenter of the explosion will be, and then draw four lines in the form of parabolas around this place. Then around the epicenter we draw lines in the form of semicircles. At the outer ends of the parabolas, draw smoke that looks like clouds. Optionally, you can add lines, make the clouds a little more voluminous and write in the center "Bang!" or "Boom!" to visually amplify the explosion.
How to draw a nuclear explosion?
The explosion from a nuclear bomb is shaped like a giant mushroom, which means that in order to depict it, you first need to sketch in the form of a mushroom. Draw two slightly uneven ovals. One of them should be longer and located above the first, forming a "cap" of the mushroom. From the middle of the upper oval to the middle of the lower one, draw two curved lines, forming a "leg". Draw an ellipse above the bottom oval.
Start adding details and turn the top oval into a cloud. Then we also draw clouds along the contour of the two remaining ovals. Add a few short vertical stripes in the center of the "legs" and color the drawing.
How to draw an explosion in MS Paint?
Explosion can bedraw not only in traditional ways, but also with a mouse on a computer. Moreover, the standard graphic editor - Paint - is suitable for this. Here's how to draw an explosion step by step:
- Creating a new document.
- Choose a dark red color and draw 7-9 circles intersecting each other in random order. You can draw them by hand using the Pencil tool, or make it easier for yourself and choose from the Oval shapes.
- Then, from the resulting figure, draw several stripes in different directions. They can also be drawn with a pencil or using the Curve shape.
- We draw additional stripes that form an acute angle with the ones already drawn.
- Use the eraser to erase the lines where the circles intersect with each other, leaving an outline and a few visible half circles in the middle of the shape.
- Click on "Change Colors" and add dark orange and light orange colors. Choose the shade of your choice.
- Make sure your explosion path is closed, select a dark orange color and use the Color Fill tool to paint over the explosion cloud.
- Click on "Brushes" and choose one of the brushes you like. For example, "Pastel".
- Click on the orange color and paint over the center of the shape with it, leaving a stripe of dark brown along the outline.
- Now choose the lightest color and use the brush to draw random semicircles.
How to draw a realistic explosion?
If you want a more realistic explosion, you will need heavy paper, a simple pencil, yellow watercolor, orange and red-orange pastel chalk, and yellow, brown and black pencils. First you need to draw a horizon line on which the explosion will be located. Then, with barely visible jagged lines, sketch out the smoke from the explosion, resembling a huge cloud. Make puffs of smoke not only along the contour, but also in the middle.
After completing the sketch, paint over it with yellow watercolor, trying to make the color more saturated near the outlines and pale in the middle. Let your watercolors dry before moving on to the next step.
Take orange dry pastel crayon and apply an extra layer of color on some of the outlines already covered with watercolor. After that, rub a little with your finger over the areas painted with chalk. Don't use oil pastel for this drawing because it won't work as well as dry crayon.
After the orange pastel, add some color with red-orange crayon. Then take a yellow pencil and add small yellow circles. With a brown pencil, make the outlines a little darker and draw a lot of small debris flying in different directions. Add some black color to the debris. Optionally paint over the area around the explosion with black pastel to make the explosion appear brighter.
